When I initially began Raiton training with Pervy Sage I was only able to go up to "A" ranks, but now that I'm able to master Raiton, I seek the expertise of Lili-Sensei ^.^".

Ah fine then. You should be well knowledgeable on the Lightning arts, so you will have no problem telling me what Lightning is, it's characteristics and how you can use it to enhance your other elements (Or use the other elements to enhance lightning). ;)

Thats no problem at all Lili-Sensei.

• Raiton is one of the basic five elemental techniques. A Raiton user can generate lightning by increasing high frequency vibrations of their chakra, which allows for keen damage and rapid movement. Raiton techniques may also leave a target in a state of paralysis. This is a very versatile element, that can be used in a variety of ways. Which include, increasing speed, infusion with weapons, defensive shield, vital attacks. Also Raiton can be used in conjunction with some of the other elements.

• Raiton + Suiton → Increases flow of the lightning chakra and the damage it causes to opponents and vice versa. Although if the users target still has a physical connection with the water, from either a pre-existing source or if they composed one with their own chakra, then they can be paralysed via their own technique.

• Raiton + Katon → Can produce natural lightning, which is more powerful.

• Raiton is a component of the kekkei genkai: Storm Release.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
• Raiton is strong against Doton.

• Raiton is weak against Fuuton.

• Kumogakure is known to be home to Nins who have exceptional Raiton abilities.

•Raiton is strong against Doton because the lightning can travel through and break the ground apart rather easily.

•Raiton is weak against Fuuton because wind is a natural eletrical insulator, because it retricts the electrical charges and doesn't allow the electrical currents to flow freely.

•As far as powering each other up i'm not too sure since they are polar opposites. Maybe for Raiton + Doton, you could start off with a Doton tech that creates fissures or channels in the ground and send them in the direction of your opponent, then you would combine Raiton and send lighting through the channels at your opponent causing more damage. As far as Raiton + Fuuton, i'm a little stumped on this one, all I could think of was if you started off with a Raiton tech that managed to paralyze your opponent, then you could follow up with an offensive Fuuton tech.

The way I came up with was through the usage of vortex-behaving lightning and wind jutsu. General rule, since both jutsus are moving in the same manner and direction, it's easier to synchronize them.

I guess we can move on to lightning. What was the last jutsu you were taught?

Well then, my usual training method is the Method Training xD. But since you already know how to use Lightning and most of it's jutsus, I will only brush on each method, and then jump straight to the actual S rank that is missing you.

Method 1: Bolts/Projectiles
Method 2: Currents/Wide Spread
Method 3: Melee
Method 4: Specifics (Kirin/16 Pillar/Blinding Light/Vortexes)

Method 1 is about creating a quick and concentrated discharge of lightning. Condensed into a ball or a spear, or even a spear. These don't necessary have to be short lived, they're just not wide-spread. They can have long ranges, but are, in itself, a single bolt. In some method, the initial bolt can, when it reaches the opponent, be divided into multiple bolts. Now, you should be able to pinpoint some of this techniques, I'll just show you the S rank version:

(Raiton: Gian) - Lightning Style: False Darkness
Rank: S
Type: Attack
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 40
Damage Points: 80
Descripton: The user after performing the hand seal snake emits lightning in the shape of a spear from their hands whilst kakuzu lightning mask emits it from its mouth, which then pierces the enemy. Its destructive power is great enough to even pierce through rock; meaning it has a high killing potential. The user can increase the number of spears to attack multiple enemies. This, coupled with the sheer speed of the lightning, makes it a difficult technique to evade. This strong attack can be defended against by an equally strong attack of the same element such as Raikiri.

Stronger version of the former, (Raiton: Gian Yari) - Lightning Style: False Darkness Spear, but more like a streamed projectile instead of a normal defined one. However, it still falls under the category of projectile. Excellent power, decent range and superb speed. However, the attack itself covers a small area.

Now, Method 2: Currents/Wide Spread.

Now, instead of creating a bolt or projectile of lightning/electricty, you create a stream of lightning. Instead of making your lightning chakra compressed and dense you'll be making it produce a stream of lightning that you conduct unfocused through anything. This acts much more on the conductivity part of the element, as it is about creating surges or lightning that spread out. These are generally wider or simply longed-lived.

The S rank techniques of this method are:

(Raiton: Raiden) - Lightning Release: Lightning Chain
Rank: S
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 40
Damage points: 80
Description:This technique requires the user to firstly create a shadow clone, each of them then activate the Lightning Cutter on opposite hands to one another. Connecting the two techniques together, forming a chain of sorts, they are then able to use the resulting beam to slice through objects with great ease.
Note: Must first perform the shadow clone technique.

You need to have created a shadow clone before hand. When you do so, the shadow clone and you will connect to each other through a thin chain of sharp lightning. You both get some distance from each other and run towards a target. As the chain touches something it will cut it as a sharp thin wire would. Remember however, that this move leaves some vulnerability to water as you are connected through a long lightning chain to your clone. A big enough water attack will result in your electrifying yourselves.

Questions?

Just one, but it's a pretty broad question, not relating specifically to this technique, but say you perform a Raiton technique that conducts focused lightning, in that instance there are situations where contact with water won't lead to electrocution, correct? Or did I learn some false information :p that's all I want to clear up, everything else is good. ^.^

Since you're controlling the flow of the lightning, you can, to a certain extend, give it such a direction that it goes away from you, and thus, it won't electrocute you. Though, the medium through which you're trying to pass the current (Water) is so broad, that, in most lightning jutsus, it causes a short-circuit of the technique, and spreads lightning all around, including you.

Or, when water jutsus of stronger or equal rank are thrown at your lightning jutsu, they can forcefully alter the direction of the current, turning it towards you. The first allowing them to protect themselves and attack you, the later serving only to block the lightning and spread the current, so it attacks anyone connected to the water jutsu.

Okay then, 3rd Method: Melee

These are basically Chidori and variations. The Chidori combines chakra manipulation and elemental nature to create a very dense mass of lightning, forming a highly piercing blade. They are made of high frequency electricity that has great piercing ability and numbing ability but seem to be very low in friction and heat production. You are thus able to wield it and impale your opponent with it, or use it to coat your body and weapons, giving them great sharpness or numbing abilities.

These are very connected to speed and agility, as, to achieve most of the damage, you need to be sprinting before lunging yourself into your target, though,, the simple momentum of swinging your arm, when, for instance, in close range, should still achieve pretty great results. Techniques that stem from it usually serve to extend the length of the blade, or to widen the current, making it coat more than your palm.

Since you should probably know pretty much all of these techniques, let me just go straight to the S ranks:

(Raiton: Chidori Jinrai) – Lightning Release: 1000 birds ThunderClap.
Rank: S
Type: Attack
Range: Long
Chakra cost: 40
Damage points: 80
Description: After Performing chidori in mid air the user releases all of the lightning chakra within the chidori to create a Giant Thunder bolt that can be shot at the opponent.

Self explanatory. While you are in the air you concentrate the chidori in your hand and unleash it, forming a large thunderbolt that comes crushing down on your opponent. It's a Chidori variation with the characteristics of the 1st Method.

(Raiton: Raikiri) - Lightning Release: Lightning Blade
Rank: S
Type: Offense
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 40
Damage Points: 80
Description: This jutsu is an advanced form of Chidori.

Basically, the ubber strong version of chidori that kakashi uses. More power, more chakra, more penetration.

(Raiton: Raikiri Nibai Raikou Jishin) – Lightning Release: Lightning Blade Double Lightning Quake
Rank: S
Type: Attack
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 40
Damage points: 80
Description: The user performs Lightning blade and splits it in two, then zigzags at the opponent and finishes by slamming them with lightning Cutter.

A combo with Raikiri. Simple enough.

(Raiton: Chidori Raimei) - Lightning Style: 1000 Birds Thunderstorm
Rank: S
Type:Attack
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost:40
Damage Points:80
Descripton: A chidori that spreads from the users palm into lightning bolts that cover a circular area destroying all thats in its way.

You unleash your chidori from your palm in a circle swarm of lightning bolts that destroy everything in its path. Basically a Chidori variation that works like the 2nd Method

(Raiton: Chidori Shinsō) - One Thousand Birds True Spear
Rank: S
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 40
Damage points: 80
Description:The user starts off by dashing at his opponent with a Chidori in his hand. As they strikes his opponent, they uses shape manipulation to extend the Chidori into a lightning spear that impales and hurtles the opponent into the air. The user then increases the potency of the lightning, generating a powerful electric explosion at the end of the spear and sending the enemy back to the ground.
Note: Only the spear extention can reach up to mid range.

Simple enough.

I don't think I have any questions at the moment. On a side note though I'm actually fond of this training method, its gives me a better understanding of how to use the techniques i'm learning, instead of just regurgitating descriptions and not really learning how to apply them in Battle RP. So kudos to Lil-Sensei ^_^

Why thank you very much. Also send your kudos to Scorps, my partner in crime, and Reborn, my Sempai, for helping me with the training and molding it to what it is now :)

Anywho we're down to the last method, Method 4: Specifics.

These are a list of Lightning Chakra techniques that don't quite fit the rest of the methods. They employ different properties of the Lightning Element, such as it's mere conductivity, or using lightning technique to manipulate other lightning techniques or even natural lightning, by changing the polarity of one's technique (Most commonly, the famous Kirin). To be more specific, in this method, I'd teach you every technique, so you'd clearly note the differences. But since you already know everything up to A rank, just think of this method as the method of the jutsus that didn't quite fit the other ones xD

(Raiton: Kirin) - Lightning Release: Kirin
Rank: S
Type: Offense
Range: Long
Chakra Cost: 40
Damage Points: 80
Description: After using Dragon Fireball Jutsu to create thunderclouds in the sky, the user will use Chidori to take control of the lightning above. They can then make the lightning strike an opponent in the blink of an eye.
Can only be avoided with time/space techniques. Can only be used once per battle.

You are able to gather the natural lightning in the air (Case there's a thunderstorm above your heads), by creating a chidori on your hand (requires a technique). After you gathered all the lightning, you will give it the shape of a massive dragon, the true form of the Kirin, and you then lower your arm, bringing it down at once, upon your opponent. The technique itself, and that's what grants it the time/space restriction, is that, once you give it the order to drop down, it will move at light-speed, as it is natural lightning and not Raiton, in it's essence. But that's simply the time-frame between making it drop and hitting your opponent. Although it should take little to no time to make the chidori and gather the lightning (especially if you use the chidori on the previous turn), your opponent can, and should, react to the kirin as you do all those things. It's a small time-frame, of course, but an experience enough opponent would be able to release any sort of fast acting technique, even throwing a couple of handseals before he has to deal with the light speed of the drop.

Now, if there aren't any thunder in the air, you need to create it yourself. Again, this requires natural lightning, so it must be done by heat, and not by a Lightning Jutsus. To do so, the fire technique needs 2 conditions: 1. Be B ranked or higher. 2. Be Long-ranged. If the technique meets those conditions, you need to shoot it at the sky, which will drastically increase the temperature of the air, causing a dis-balance of the water-moisture, and creating thunder clouds. Common rule, you need to preform the fire technique in the previous turn you attempt to use the Kirin, so, first you create the fire and then, if your opponent failed to block the fire, you can create the lightning. Of course, if you don't make the Kirin yourself, then your opponent will be able to use it before you. For example, if your opponent allows the fireball to meet it's end, but then preforms a jutsu that forces you to block it on your first move the next turn, he can use that time to preform the chidori before you do and hit you with the very lightning you created.

This also means that a good counter to Kirin is using Kirin at the same time as your opponent, forcing the Kirin to fall between the both of you, instead of right on top of you. At least that's how I've always viewed it.

(Raigen Raikochu) – Lightning Illusion Flash of Lightning Pillar
Rank: S
Type: Supplementaty
Range: Long
Chakra cost: 40
Damage points: N/A
Description: After performing the following handseals Ram → Horse → Snake → Tiger the user will then create a blinding light that appears to emanate from the users body and blind the target/s.

This is basically using your lightning chakra, spreading it throughout your body and creating a surge of bright light that can easily blind anyone in range. Its useless against Byakugan and Sharingan users though. (Rinnegan is uncertain). Why? because this is a pure flash of light and those eyes can see pass light and focus on chakra. Its a good technique to hide an attack such as kirin for example. Or to run away safely if you feel outmatched. This technique does not cause electrocution, does not cause numbness, it merely focuses on the lightning's ability to produce light. though, if you are underwater, it is debatable if it will short-circuit all the same. I'd say it's best if you clear out of it. (though don't give anyone hardship for attempting it, if you fight them. It's an arguable matter and so, while you, for having been taught by me, will need to abide to the no water restrictions, other might not. Though luck for you, I might say xD)

Haha, If I have any problems with someone during a battle, I'll blame it on Lil-Sensei 0_0. On topic, I have no questions about this Method ^_^
