Name: [岡部] Okabe - [倫太郎] Rintarou - [日向] Hyūga
Nickname: Hououin Kyouma — Steins;gate — Mad Scientist — Okarin
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Clan: Hyūga

Looks: Okabe has the characteristics of a lanky young man, with a square jaw and bony cheeks. He has his short black hair swept up and has brown irises, with a small amount of stubble on his chin. Okabe also wears a lab coat, which he wears over a simple white shirt and brown slacks.
Personality: Okabe is a melodramatic, eccentric individual. He is a self-proclaimed mad scientist, who likes to assume the nickname "Hououin Kyouma", and often uses this to introduce himself to others. For the most part, people address him by his actual name or by 'Okarin' (his nickname), much to his chagrin.
He also likes to pose as an agent working against a certain "Organization" which he thinks is always after him, as he believes this kind of image gives him a cool and mysterious aura.
He usually gives off the impression of being delusional and paranoid, engaging in strange mannerisms such as talking to himself and engaging in fits of maniacal laughter often, this is in fact a facade he wears in order to make life interesting for his dear childhood friend. Initially, he is portrayed as being rather arrogant. However, many people believe that this is due to Okabe's eccentricities and social awkwardness.
Despite the aforementioned traits, he is actually a kind and caring individual. This is particularly evident towards the end of his years as a young Chunnin, where he casts aside his particular facade, to save his friends from the seemingly unavoidable fate of Death.

History: Okabe was born in the village Konohagakure, the village hidden in the leafs, into the Hyūga family, one of the four grand noble families of Konohagakure. His family was of one of the lower branches of the house, but still possessed the traits and skills of the Byakugan. Okabe was raised in discipline, restraint, and judgement. If he was not of the best skill level and capability, then he was 'dealt with' in a very harsh and violent course of discipline. Several times was he threatened to be disowned as a child, and the threat frightened him beyond belief.
Okabe had siblings that he adored, and friends in the family that he cherished. To lose all of them simply for not meeting expectation of his elders would destroy his mind and soul, as he put it...
Later into the earlier years of Okabe's teen-life, he found himself taking part in the Chunnin exams at the age of thirteen. He entered with what seemed to be an emotionless state due to his intense 'discipline', yet his mind was riddled with fear of failure, for he knew that failing the Chunnin exams, would only lead to the end of his life as a Hyūga.
Okabe made it through the written test with ease, and the Forest of Death, the second stage of the Chunnin exams relatively easily as well, because the team he was pared with was quite good at their teamwork. The final challenge / test of the Chunnin exams was his hardest, for he was faced against one of his dearest friends whom was apart of the Hyūga house as well, one of which was a child of the rival branch house to his own. Their friendship was entirely secret from both families, as it would cause serious problems to the houses in a manner of pride... As such, they were forced to go all out on each other, in order to avoid suspicion of being kind toward one another, they had to give off the impression to their families that they were mortal enemies, and both had a difficult time doing this, simply because they knew it wasn't the case with them...
Eventually, Okabe had ended up on top in the match, but before he finished the final attack on his friend, he simply stopped himself, and forfeited the match, as he could no longer hurt his dear friend. As such, with both families baring witness to the end result of the match, they knew instantly what had been going on, and utter hell was unleashed on Okabe and his friend, and violence erupted between both households almost immediately after the Chunnin exams... Upon returning home, Okabe was brutally beaten both physically and emotionally by his Father, whom was gravely disappointed with not only the fact that Okabe was friends with their rival, but he had also forfeited the match without thought of himself.. All of which was strictly against his Father's desire of a 'proper' son.
Upon disappointing his father for the last time, Okabe was finally cast out from his family by his Father, and as such, Okabe's life, world and mind crumbled around him in a decay of misery and agony...
Okabe decided for himself that there was no more in Konohagakure for him, he decided to leave the village hidden in the leaf, and find himself a home where he could restart. During this stage of his life, is when Okabe's personality began to take dramatic changes. Becoming extremely odd to put it mildly, and began to take up the department of research, rather than constant training. He began to start observing as many Ninja spars and battles as often as he possibly could, studying them and the tactics they were using. His thought process was to grow stronger in the knowledge of moving around the battle field, rather than how to try and get 'stronger' in order to defeat his opponents with strength. He preferred to use wit rather than brute force, and if he could avoid as much battle as humanly
possible, he would take the chance. This is an odd thing for one to do, especially a Ninja, but Okabe was a rare one when it came to his fighting style and such, but the only logical explanation for his attitude was that he simply feared disappointing anybody, as was the cause for his end as a Hyūga family member, he feared ever having to face such a situation again, no matter what it was that he had to lose.
Eventually, after a couple years of traveling abroad, Okabe had stumbled across a shady, yet friendly enough individual whom was traveling as well. This man however had the aura of a very powerful individual, both in mind and body. Okabe was fascinated by this man, but believed him to be from the 'Organization', a figment that was generated in Okabe's mind, and he believed real. He justified believing it as real to help maintain his sanity, and help keep him losing himself to sorrow.
Okabe approached the shady figure and demanded his identity, and the man addressed Okabe; "Who am I? Who are YOU!?" - Okabe snarled as he waved his hand outward and smirked, slowly chuckling in his odd way as he gazed at the man; "Who am I? I am Hooooououin Kyouma! Mad Scientist and loyal Agent of Steins;Gate!" - The shady figure simply shrugged and took Okabe for a fool, simply turning himself to leave him to his insanity, but Okabe demanded that he was given the identity of the man before him in return to giving his own; "Sigh~ Fine fine... Name's Alucard.. Mizukage of Kirigakure. Pleasure.."
Okabe was stunned that he was standing before such a high-ranking man. A Kage of a village! It struck him..; "Take me into your village, good sir! And I shall protect you from the Organization's plots!" - Okabe was ready to get on his hands and knees and beg to be taken into Kirigakure if it was indeed needed, but he decided to save that as a plan B. if the Kage did not care for his first approach... Much to Okabe's surprise however, the Mizukage simply laughed and stared at him; "Ya'know, you're alright kid... Sure, you can join Kiri, just make sure you don't screw around too much..." - Okabe was ecstatic with the words the man spoke. He had finally found a place where he could belong.. and he was willing to live with it.
After a few years spent with Kirigakure, Okabe had made a place for himself in the village, he felt accepted there, though he wasn't exactly regarded as a important member of the village, let alone noticed. Yet his name was not unknown, he had begun making friends in the village, especially with the now retired Mizukage Alucard, whom he has on occasion held friendly chats and conversations with in the past few years. Okabe had decided to take the Chunnin exams in Kirigakure, and graduated as an official Chunnin of Kirigakure. Afterward, he went onto becoming a Jounin of Kirigakure, one of which he was proud to be.
