Those black # looking things are almost taking away my attention from the vocal, which is actually the opposite of what it is supposed to do. The background shouold make your focus go to the focal instead of stealing the focus from the focal.

But yeah it is something which I haven't seen anyone using before and taking risks is a really good way to imrpove your skills, kepp up the good work
