We have the ability to use calls, but we're too lazy and don't have mic's either, so we just use chat.

Well, I haven't used anything chat-like since around 2006. Since then I've only been discussing stuff like movies or manga on forums. I've never had a Facebook account. I have one on Twitter but only to stalk things. So I guess I missed a lot in the past decade :|

So true, only excuse that can be said is that everything happened instantly.

If Seryuu shouted Koro the moment before or after she got her arms sliced then it'll make sense but she shouted for Koro when she was in a helpless state.

The question is, why didn't she go for Seryuu's head immediately? Unfortunately sometimes plot just dictates things, like anywhere else.
