Seryuu had best death. I honestly felt sad that she wasn't able to accomplish her goal. Twisted as it may be, she thought it was righteous and carried her beliefs to the grave basically like Deidara.

Braht's death actually accomplished something though. Not only did he kill the three beasts but he passed his will and teigu down.

Seryu just died a dumbass in my opinion. Though she's a fave.

You're comparing two different type of characters though. Bulat is a heroic or rather a ''good'' character and a death where he sacrifices himself to defeat the villain and pass on his will/weapon suits a ''good'' character. On the other hand, Seryu is a villainous character and such a death would never suit her, but a death where she actually goes so far to blow up and kill herself in order to bring the enemy down to hell along with her and show the extent of her insanity suits a villainous character like her.

It wasn't tragic or even poetic in my eyes, she wasn't even really a villain. She was just ignorant, she died not seeing life for what it was.

Even wave noticed how f'd her perception was. I think if she was sane she would have been apart of night raid, with her sense of justice. But the irony of her ignorance and sanity was that she didn't actually understand that the justice she was fighting for wasn't actually justice. She was helping create more chaos and despair.

--------->In my opinion<---------

Though I love her fighting style and design.

Seryu was completely insane and was blind to real justice because she was taught a completely opposite way of justice. She had a strong sense of justice, but her justice was twisted which was the result of her being raised up as a soldier of the Empire which is beyond corrupted. If she was actually sane, she'd be able to see that her justice is wrong and yeah, she would have probably became a part of Night Raid.

Still doesn't change that she was a good character and was interesting af. Though, about her death, I definitely think it was tragic, seeing what the Empire has done to a girl like her who just wanted nothing more than justice.

Seryuu was just blinded by her own sense, doing what she did blindly because she believed that was absolutely right.

People like her exist in organisations like police forces, they do not think much but they simply stick to believe what they do and do everything they can for that belief. She reminds me of vulgar ignorant religious people, they are the ones who preach most while knowing least.

Edit: Look at the healthy quality convo we are having.

^ Those people usually know that what they are doing is wrong though, but are doing it just for the sake of proving their superiority or rather ''for their pleasure''. Seryu, on the other hand, is insane and believes that what she's doing is right.

Though, all in all, I guess she does represent ''police brutality''.

Well I guess characters like Seryuu and Kurome aren't actually villains, they're more like tools and victims. Which is sad I suppose.

Shura, Esdeath, the Minister, Wild Hunt these people are actually villains. They understand life and don't care for it. Kurome and Seryuu care for life, but they're victims to their environment.

Yeah, I agree to that. Seryu and Kurome are antagonists, but not really what you could call ''villains'', I suppose.

The author said Seryu was insane from nature, not specifically because of the environment she was raised in. But still, it counts, because Ogre and her father fueled her insanity. She's one hell of a character.

Kurome doesn't give her candy to anyone because she doesn't want them drugged and being like her, not because she is addicted. So yeah, they are victims of the corruption in the Empire.
