Its amazing how far Might Gai has taken the power of Taijutsu isnt it? :) ever wonder about Taijutsu's Origin?

We do know Ninjutsu was first used by SO6P, Genjutsu as well perhaps, but most likely Genjutsu was the Elder Sons forte given that he had the yin and the power of Dojutsu.

I believe the modern Taijutsu and Kenjutsu are somewhat Older than the two:

In ancient times before the existence of Chakra, it was said to be an era of endless wars between mankind. Given there was no chakra, its safe to assume they used Sword techniques and Martial arts to fight in these Wars, that is until Kaguya ate the Fruit of course.

Her name and title are likely references to Princess Kaguya, the main character from The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter (竹取物語, Taketori Monogatari), which is said to be one of the oldest Japanese legends in written record. According to the legend, Princess Kaguya wears a hagoromo (羽衣, "feather mantle") when she returns home to her kingdom. The name Ōtsutsuki (大筒木) roughly means "big bamboo tree" and is derived from an obscure passage in the second volume of the Kojiki about the genealogies of Emperor Suinin, eleventh emperor of Japan, which states that he had a consort named Kaguyahime no Mikoto (迦具夜比売命), the daughter of a king named Ōtsutsukitarine no Miko (大筒木垂根王); tradition holds that these individuals served as the basis for Princess Kaguya and the old bamboo cutter in the aforementioned tale.

was the first human to use chakra, but as far as we know - she could not use Ninjutsu or Genjutsu, she was merely said to be able to manipulate chakra and fight with the strength of the energy she had consumed!

Given Kaguya was a Warrior princess, its safe to assume she was skilled at Sword techniques and Martial arts before her consumption of the fruit, Which leads me to believe she was the first person to use the form of "Taijutsu" and "Kenjutsu" that is used today in the Ninja world! considering they require much more energy than Non-Chakrad beings probably had.

Martial Arts + A Body With Chakra = Modern Taijutsu
Sword Techs + A Body With Chakra = Modern Kenjutsu

The human body is already flowing with chakra, so their stamina, strength etc...is all boost up by simply having chakra in their bodies - that is essentially my point with my reference. Without chakra "yin and yang" in his body, Gai wouldnt be able to perform such a thing as hirudora or morning peacock etc..

which is why the 8 gates of taijutsu basically revolves around openig the chakra pathways

I believe Kaguya was able to use Extreme forms of Taijutsu and Kenjutsu with the power she had gained!! and no doubt she was able to use chakra cloaks and such for defense offense etc :)

Which brings me to another point:

The Eight Gates are eight specific points on a person's Chakra Pathway System. They limit the overall flow of chakra within a person's body, by opening the Eight Gates one gains access to all the chakra in the body which results in complete chakra drainage and eventual death!

I think by opening all the Gates, One would gain access to a power similar to that of the Fruits power!, perhaps nowhere near that of Kaguyas, as Gai has only a fraction of her power within his body, however I can only come to the conclusion that by opening the eighth gate, one uses up all the chakra that flows through his body which causes the body to deteriorate and sieze to function!

It is my hypothesis that Someone with the body of The Sages/Kaguyas would be able to open all the Gates without having to die! due to having especially strong bodies, the Sage would end up exhausted and unable to use chakra anymore, but he would most likely Survive!

Although I believe that opening all gates would be somewhat like extracting a bijuu from a jinchuuriki, after youve opened it and used up all your chakra, even if you survive, you will never be able to use chakra again!

Super tiny Summary for Super Dummies

Martial arts/Swordsmanship back in the day also known as taijutsu/kenjutsu have elvoved to the extreme taijutsu/kenjutsu we have today in NV (thanks to the power of chakra)

Also I would like to add, that the Samurai "kenjutsu" techniques used in NV is proof of how Chakra enhances ones abilities.

Taijutsu/kenjutsu doesn't require chakra, It just requires stamina.
Stamina + spiritual energy = chakra.

*There's a manga page stating this if you want*
Just saying, so you can correct some of your theory.
The rest seems good, nice theory. Kaguya probably used the chakra she got to boost her taijutsu (by gates).

good read *_*

the only problem i have with this is the fact that Taijutsu does NOT = Chakra + Martial arts, Matter fact Taijutsu has nothing to do with Chakra.

being able to open the gates is a whole different story (it does require chakra but it has nothing to do with Taijutsu).

there is no problem, I've done my research, you just misunderstood my theory - I added a tiny extra for those who did not understand my meaning - kindly go back and read.

Do you know anyone without chakra who can sweat green, burst up on fire, and create an air pressure so powerful that it would take the form of a tiger and blow away half a river?

Point is Chakra enhances the users "martial arts techs, sword techs"

u guys take this way out of contex, taijutsu and the gates are 2 different things...the gates are chakra limitors, when opening the gates u allow more of your chakra to come out at once, so the 8 inner gates techs utilize chakra as energy...taijutsu is not utilizing chakra at all for any purpose, and taijutsu could have been used before the sage because it was known they were at were before kaguya ate the fruit and its commonly known that physical fighting has to be learned by the warriors or soldiers as we call them now, also taijutsu most likely is the oldest form of combat because before ninjutsu/genjutsu there was still fighting even before swords or weapons were ever created there was still fighting, so basically what im saying is taijutsu was not created by the sage nor by his mother nor by it has always been there just became better and more unique over the years...

as for the 8 inner gates it has to be a rarity because when madara first saw gai he said to himself " a shinobi who can use the inner gates " as if he has seen it before but not many times...

I dont think anyone understood the point of my thread

I'll say this one last time: Having chakra as the source of ones energy enhanced humanities taijutsu "aka martial arts" and kenjutsu "aka swordsmanship"

taijutsu is any form of making physical combat with another person, also the person who said taijutsu came from two people punching and kicking ech other is correct in saying that, he didnt argue that chakra enhances taijutsu...

i understood u very well, i just wanted to put in my 2 cents of what it is because people on this thread seem to not knw the difference between the 2...1 is physical contact, and the other enhances physical contact...

Hashirama is one beast

Hashirama definitely didn't invent Taijutsu. He couldn't have invented the eight gates either. Whoever invented the eight gates wouldn't have lived to talk about after they used it so they probably went to the seventh knew, and saw the toll it took on their bodies so they figured if they went beyond it they'd die, or specifically invented it so that they'd use it in a time were they're in an extreme battle, knowing they'd die. Theirs also the possibility that the person who used the eight gate did it in front of a student they taught, not knowing they'd die, and then passed after using it. The student then relays the information to their students, that the eight gate is fatal.

This thread is gold by the way. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
