Naruto only became so powerful because of Kurama and Ashuras DNA. Boruto doesn't have either. The only thing he has is Uzumaki DNA but it didn't help Naruto much since the only Jutsus he ever learned are Rasengan, Shadow Clones and Sexy No Jutsu... Sarada on the other hand has big potential...

Either Kishi has to go back after the war and continue the story from there without the next generation. Or Naruto/Sasuke need to die in Gaiden.
