You can control your chalra in genjutsi, but it doesnt mean youll break it. Look at Naruto, he tried to break Itachi' s genjutsu himself by controlling his chakra, but he was new to think. Instead Sakura had to do it, a separte chakrdisturbed it .

How doesn't the Curse Mark counter genjutsu?!?! We've seen that Curse Mark is a separate indivduals charka that distrubs the users chakra. The ways of countering genjutsu is disturbing your chakra flow, by overpowering the caser. Curse Mark users clearly do this. Shouldn't this be a counter...
