Yes but he would first need to realize that he's in genjutsu. Not 100% sure but kimi isnt a sensor? If so then this is an easy clean up because by the time he figures out that he isnt in reality then Itachi can finish the fight.

Would he need to? Manually this is done, so whether he is aware of this, resorting to someething as simply as bullets would inflict pain.
