Basically what the title says. Orochimaru being relevant was hinted many times during this war arc - Guruguru and CS, his talk with Sasuke, taking over Zetsu etc. So was Kishimoto doing this only to tease Oro fans or is there something planned for him in the future? What are your thoughts on this?

The true reason is that if he wasn't ill, Orochimaru would've become one the strongest beings in NV :3 Damn dem plot restrictions :( 1. Kaguya || Kimimaro. 2. Kaguya's robe || Oro's robe. 3. Kishimoto hinting Orochimaru being stronger than Kaguya. 4. And finally - THE ULTIMATE BEING!
