I think genjutsu is useful regardless of what type it is. And I think people just need to stop hyping itachi's use of tsukuyomi. Yes itachi's use of tsukuyomi is unprecedented and he was the best user of it that we know of and yes he was extremely skilled in all types of genjutsu but hey...
