i have been thinking about this for a long time, when hashirama went against madara, why didn't madara use tsukuyomi or another genjutsu to win the battle? from what we know of hashirama, he doesn't have anything special to protect against genjutsu so, why didn't he use that?

Location: open field Itachi: cannot use anything other then taijutsu and 3 tomoe sharingan Gai: cannot open gates. i think itachi would win even though Gai is better at taijutsu because of his ability with the sharingan to interpret moves.
