It got the green light for a cour. Which is like 26 episodes. I havn't watched the first episode yet, so I don't know where you stopped. Though Agk's pacing is pretty decent, you won't get into any lulls. (Second Episode just came out btw. You can find the link in the Fan Club page for AgK.)

The manga is very good. I would suggest reading it, because the first season of the Anime won't reach where we are in the story. There's no reason you can't read it and watch it.
