The sad truth about facts, regarding politicians and stuff etc, is they make up so many lies, and repeat it to the public, and then the media repeats those lies. Simply if you say a lie enough times it becomes true. Sometimes you can drag others into a lie, and make them believe the lie as well. To those who are not trained to truly think and analyze, the lies can be fact.
The simple point i am makeing, is dont trust the politicians with their lies, and the media with their glorifying of the lies, and attempt to make them seem true. Look at what is really going on. I am only using this single example, and am not makeing any kind of political statement. Our current president, President Obama, to many is regarded as the best president in history. But when you ask someone, and push them with questions, they cannot support him being the best. They try to with "the facts"(actually some lies and exagerations) but in the end they will just be stubborn and say you are blind, dumb etc, because you cant see the facts. When in actuality, they simply repeated a thought, or saw a thought repeated so many times, that they came to believe it. It may have started with someone just thinking that he would wind up being the best president, and then repeating the hope, until that person began to see what they were hopeing.
A other example is fanboys, of some of these characters in naruto. The fanboys truly believe what they say, as they have thought it enough times to think of it as fact. They may say how (insert character here) is stronger than (insert op character here), when there is no evidence.
What i am getting at, is many of you are victims of this "brainwashing"(i used the term brainwashing, because it is the best word to describe what happened to you).
The brainwashing may not even be intentional, or known that it happened. But it is there, and there are many false facts out there. What i would like you people to take from this, is research all the "facts" that you use. Always use multiple sources. Learn about the other stance of an issue, never get stuck completely on one side. ESSENTIALLY THINK, JUST THINK.
Great examples of what i described, are this tv show episode, and this movie.

Summary
Link to watch it(its also on netflix)
These fictional pieces of media show how you are lied to on a daily basis, and begin to believe those lies.
LASTLY, A example of the media useing lies to support what they support(or the twisting of facts)(you dont need to read, a best example is a video above. below is just 2 issues i used(i tried to pick non political topics)
Simply though, the media controls all the facts. The media could truly say or do or make up anything they want. They can and do affect how you think. The solution, is to think, and to question. To always momentarily put aside your beliefs and opinions and look at something for what it is, or what it could be. To not just believe what you are told all the time. Politicians do this as well.
Again, i highly reccomend you watch one of the videos. The movie is on netflix, and that tv show episode, is not.
Both highlight very well, how people can be manipulated.

Summary
To get some additional supplies for the local orphanage, Hawkeye and Trapper invent a fictional Captain Tuttle (based on Hawkeye's imaginary friend from childhood). The deception slowly grows until everyone at the 4077th believes Tuttle to be a real person, and the situation worsens when General Clayton decides to award Tuttle a medal and put his picture in the newspaper. Hawkeye and Trapper end their problems by faking Tuttle's death and claiming that he had asked for all of his back pay to be donated to the orphanage. As the episode ends, they joke with each other about where they got a pair of boots they used for the faked death - from the equally fictional Major Murdock.

Movie, Wag the dog
Summary
When an unnamed president of the United States is caught in a closed room making advances on an underage "Firefly Girl" (the fictional equivalent of a Girl Scout) less than two weeks before re-election, Conrad Brean (De Niro), a top notch spin-doctor, is brought in to try to take the public attention away from the scandal. He decides to construct a fake war with Albania, hoping the media will concentrate on this instead. In order to come up with his 'war', he contacts a Hollywood producer named Stanley Motss (Hoffman), who brings in a series of specialists who help construct a theme song, build up interest, and fake some footage of an orphan in Albania.
The plan's setbacks, including an error that led to seizing a criminally insane Army prison convict (Harrelson) to be their "hero" who was "shot down behind enemy lines," do not disturb Motss, who repeatedly claims "this is nothing" while comparing the situation to past movie-making catastrophes he averted. In the end, with the election having taken place and the president re-elected, everything seems fine until Motss finds out from the news outlets that the media are crediting the president's win to his tired campaign slogan of "Don't change horses in mid stream" rather than Motss's elaborate plans. Motss announces that he will call the media to "set them straight," despite Brean's warning that he is "toying with his life." When Motss refuses to back down, Brean has him killed and makes it look as if he had a heart attack while tanning next to his pool. The film ends with a news report about a violent incident in Albania, but it is unclear whether this is a true event or simply a continuation of the fictional war.

Global warming.
here is an example of how guns save
the woman shot 6 BULLETS at point blank range. She hit the guy with 5 bullets. And yet the guy was able to run away.(he was caught shortly after driveing his car into a tree)
So she was able to barely defend against 1 GUY with the gun. She shot him 5 times, at pointblank range. If he was armed with a gun, or had a partner, then she wouldnt have been able to protect her kids.
The media would like to portray guns as for hunting. But that is not what most are there for. They are there to protect. You need larger magazines not for destroying a deer, or a person, but for if you miss. If police use higher capacity magazines for the public safety, then it should be fine for private safety.
What the media shows you
I wasnt sure what keywords to use exactly, but many people in the media, were blameing this mild winter on global warming.
What happens
Europe had cold winter
Heavy snowfall in jerusalem
In europe and the middle east, they had one of their coldest winters in years.
The conclusion
Global warming is based on very limited data. There has not been signifigant evidence to support it, and prove that the warming and cooling is not just the natural process. The media in this example was using a mild winter in the us, to show its global warming. Europe was actually haveing a heavy winter. So for global warming to truly exist, it needs to be a global effect, not just on one part of the world.
I chose this issue to illustrate, a more non political example.
a second example is the guns issue.
Sandy hook is used to push bans on guns of different sorts, and magazines. Guns are only portrayed as killing machines, instead of being used for sport, and home defence. This in a large part is based off a hollywood stereo type.
So all you hear about in the media, is how guns kill.
