The mist doessnt matter because he has white snake regeneration to if he gets hit
also he can use genjutsu binding to immobilize him if he gets too near in the mist or even Soft Physique Modification For when zabuza does catch him in the mist he can use his feet to wrap around him and then ultimately using genjutsu

The mist is really not even a factor here. Orochimaru could simply use LAC to leave the mist and surprise Zabuza when his guard is down. Also, if Orochimaru has his head chopped he still wouldn't die. The snake connecting technique would activate or what happened here

Don't snakes have infrared sensing? This might make the mist completely useless unless I'm forgetting something. If we're considering armless Orochimaru as the one that fought KN4, he can still fire off 10,000 snakes (possibly Hydra?) and literally dig into the ground. On the mist topic, didn't Kakashi say that it only slowed down his reactions, not totally leaving him defenseless? I think he blocked a few of Zabuza's attacks or at least anticipated them.
