Is this why Shippuden was added to Naruto?

I thought about something weird today after seeing a hurricane picture from a satellite:

Doesn't the shape of a hurricane look like Obito's mask?

And if you think about it, in the manga before it moves into what is traditionally called "Shippuden" or second part of Naruto, is when we first see Kakashi Gaiden which introduces Kakashi's past, including Obito, Rin, and Minato.

I don't know about you guys, but I almost don't see this as a coincidence. I always praised Kishimoto for thinking so far ahead in his story, but if this is true then it just blows my mind away.

If you still haven't caught the significance of what I just showed you I shall explain it more clearly.

Basically, before Naruto moves into the second part of the series, called Shippuden or "Hurricane Chronicles", we get Kakashi Gaiden, which introduces Obito. This only happens in the manga because in the anime the episodes for Kakashi gaiden are pushed back to a later part.

Anyway, Obito is who we affectionately know as Tobi, who we are used to seeing with a swirly mask, like the picture above. My idea here is that what if "Hurricane Chronicles" as a title, was giving us a clue into who the real villain of the this part of the series was. I mean Tobi's mask looks like a hurricane if you think about it, but that is not all.

Tobi, or Obito, is the true main villain of this part of the series because without him there would be no 4th war, Minato and Kushina would still be alive, Akatsuki would not exist, and if Akatsuki did not exist then no one would be after the Tailed beast in an organized fashion like them, and therefore there would be no revival of the Ten-tails or Project Tsukiyomi. In fact Madara would have withered and died eventually if it wasn't for Obito's survival. I would even go as far as to say that Naruto could have never learned to control the Nine tails chakra, and even learn Sage mode since there would be no incentive for him to learn these things.

Do you see Obito's importance to the series now? Taking all the collective data, and combining it with what I said about the mask, and the title for the second part of the series, "Hurricane Chronicles", I think it makes sense that Kishimoto named it this after all and that Tobi was Obito before he even started drawing Shippuden, potentially.

What do you guys think?

All I know is, Shippuden power levels are way too damn high. Should've kept it like normal Naruto, where meteor's didn't fall from the sky because someone commanded it to :|

So your saying kishi called it hurricane chronicles because obito is a major part of it, it makes sense. I always thought it was called that because things were about to get more intense but who knows.

But you said if this is why kishi called it this you are mind blown because he thought of obito at the start of part 2? Well you should be even more mind blown as he thought of obito from the beginning of part 1.

There are clues as early back as chapter 14, plus do you think the nine tails attack, kakashi having a sharingan, akatsuki etc.. do you think kishi just said "hey let me make a nine tailed fox attack the village for no reason" and "hey let me give this guy a sharingan for no reason"

It is obvious he had all of this planned since part 1. This obviousness combined with clues from chapter 14 means he had most of this planned, obito included

Kishimoto is infamous for foreshadowing or leaving subtle hints for the readers to pick up, so I wouldn't be surprised, but most of it was already planned in the beginning. You'd be surprised if you go way back and read the start of part 1. It would be like puzzle pieces clicking together.

Yes and no. I am surprised that Kishimoto thought this through this much, but thats not my main point. My main point is that it makes sense now as to why the series was renamed Naruto Shippuden, respectively. My reason for correlating Tobi's mask and the shape of a hurricane is that the new name of the series speaks of a Hurricane, and before this idea cam into mind I could never understand why it was called "hurricane Chronicles," but now correlating the hurricane aspect to Tobi's mask and Tobi's mask to Obito's significance of the entirety of the plot of Naruto Shippuden gives meaning as to why whoever chose the name "Shippuden" gave the name to Naruto in the first place.

Do you see what I mean?

Right on brother, that shit is ridiculous.
And a lot of things in Naruto have similar spirals like the symbol for the Uzumaki clan, the Rasengan, etc; It has nothing to do with Obito's mask it may just be metaphorical for changing winds and blah blah blah...

Good thread is good, and you should feel good. ^.^

Op: There are countless clues in the early chapters towards things that are happening now buddy. And yeah Obito has been an 'unknown' essential part of the series since day one really. All in all I agree with you fully bud.

What a lame Excused to name the Second part like that because of a single mere mask like that...
in my. P:O:V:

KIshi named it Maybe because of the elements that involves around creating the Five Great Shinobi Countries.
It was like Telling the Great tales of the five GReat Shinobi Countries.

The Land of Fire.
The Land of Water.
The Land of the Wind.
The land of the Lightning.
The Land of the Earth.

YOu need this elements to make a great Hurricane.

I agree with the power levels as well, and I also agree with what you mean about spirals, but in defense of my position those other spirals don't really affect the entirety of the series like Obito did, who happened to have the spiral-esque mask. I always wondered why Naruto was changed to Naruto the Hurricane Chronicles, but now I do have an answer that I believe may at least have had some influence the changing the name of the series to such an outlandish name. At least with series like Dragonball and Dragonball Z, the name only adds a meaningless letter, not an entire word that seemingly doesn't make sense in conjuction with the content of the narrative.

Also, it is called Hurricane Chronicles, not just Hurricane. Chronicles denotes a history, a record of events. From speculation, it seems that Kishi wanted to create an entire story, and he decided to use one main villain to do just that, namely Tobi/Obito, who hid in the shadows with his signature mask, which happens to resemble a Hurricane as well. Thats my reasoning behind it.
