Would the world be safer without guns ?

honestly it probs would be but people would just find other weapons and then they would also be used for bad ... u could just get rid of all weapons... but then people might not be able to defend themselves...

yes you could learn martial arts but then this could also be used for bad....

the point is you could get rid of gun and swords and axes... but the world still wont be any safer

The only problem comes when animals or events that we absolutely need a gun for arrives and we don't have one.

For example: a tiger getting out of a Zoo....

Someone running around with a knife to kill people

suicide bombers

alien invasion

Zombie apocalypse (though debatable....as I'd take a melee weapon as to avoid alerting the horde)

I could see the possibility where it would do more good than harm...but there are certain situations having a gun for people would be a lot better than not having one. Besides...being humans we'd find another way to kill each other.

Yup, most probably.
At least with swords or brawls, people had a chance to defend themselves. It's easier to kill with a gun than most other weapons, hence less guns could lower the amount of deaths, but not necessarily lower the amount of violence.

The only difference between a gun and a blade or bow is you can kill people faster with a gun. We've been killing each other long before guns were invented.

It sounds way worse when you hear someone strangled say 20 people than a gun. The gun is quick, not only is a strangling slower and more painful you have to think of the psycho that did it, watching these people slowly die.

Depends upon what you classify as safe. People will still be just as willing to take advantage of you and to do harm to you. All you've done is taken away a tool for them to do it with.

So, instead of robbing you blind and killing you - they just rob you blind and maybe stab you.

You didn't die... but does that make things safer?
