Kind of depends upon what you're into, really. I still enjoy TES: Oblivion with several mod packages (craftybits, Better Cities, Unique Landscapes, etc). I have steered clear of Skyrim because it's Steam-locked for the PC (and getting a game like that for a console is just not my cup of tea... too many missed mods).
The X3 game(s) is more sci-fi, but you can get a pretty interesting 4x style game going. Some mod packages make it into a very dynamic and interesting universe (though the game has a pretty steep learning curve).
Mass Effect 3 has some decent online modes and a linear RPG aspect to it.
I've been looking to get into Mech Warrior Online; it's free to play, but I'm very concerned that it might be hedging on 'pay to win' a bit too much. That said, I haven't played it much at all (though most complaints I've noticed about the game come from those relatively new to the Battletech franchise - if it plays like a mechwarrior game, then most will find it requires more than pushing buttons in a proper sequence with the best gear to do anything).
I played Rift for a while with my room mates, it was alright - but just a somewhat different spin on WoW. I've been out of it for about a year - so I can't comment much on anything that has developed since then.
Star Trek Online was much the same (there again, it's been about two years since I've messed with that). Ground combat was pretty lacking, and space combat was enriched mostly by the fact you could move through the vertical axis and the emphasis on firing arcs. As I said, I've been out of it for a while, so it may have changed considerably since my last visit (they were being fairly true to their word and some of the later patches I recalled playing were introducing a lot of new systems and re-working the old ones).
The only real 'new' one in the bunch above is MechWarrior Online - which I have yet to play (lack confidence in my laptop's ability to handle it and I lack what I consider to be proper controls... keyboard controls for MW have always been something of a dark art...).
