Let me start off by making a various obvious clarification. Hashi's cells are Senju DNA. What the title is meant to articulate is that Hashi's cells have characteristics that normal Senju DNA does not have.
Characteristics that Hashi's cells have that Senju DNA does not:
1. Mokuton jutsu- I have seen many people on the forums talk about Senju dna granting you Mokuton.. I don't even know how people got this in their heads but it is obviously false.
2. Hashi's cells are hard to control- I have seen many more people say that Senju cells are hard to control and that it is hard to control Senju DNA in order to maximize the gains afforded by Senju DNA.... This is false, but I can see why this misconception came about. It came about because every instance of people inserting Senju DNA into their system unnaturally has been through Hashirama's DNA.
For example Danzo, Obito, and Madara all used Hashi's DNA in order to gain Senju DNA.
Danzo:
Obito: half of his body is an artificial Hashirama
Madara:
So all of these people have used Hashi's cells to obtain Senju DNA. However whenever they talk about the body rejecting cells Kishi always mentions Hashirama's cells and not generic Senju DNA. Notice this is the case in Danzo's scan, as well as the case of all the children Orochimaru experimented with of which Yamato is the sole survivor.
Therefore it seems that people can use generic Senju DNA to afford all the gains of Hashi's cells except without Mokuton, but with no or a significantly lower toll on their body.

. Senju IS their clan. Hashi's Dna however is different... It is not part of the normal " Uchiha + Senju = SO6P"... Hashirama sure has the Senju clan's dna.. but he also has Mokuton...
