How strong would Kisame be without Samehada?

Most of Kisame's fighting style revolves around sucking the life out of his opponents with Samehada, but how would he fare without it?

Look at the fight between Guy and Kisame. There he is fighting without samehade.

Well, he was an excellent swordsman before he got it, so he would be pretty strong, but not even close to what he'd be with Samehada :y

He also still has his Suiton techniques ;)

Imagine Sasuke/Itachi with no Sharingan yep, he would die as quickly as Sasuke would've against Deidara lol

Assuming that he killed a whole Anbu squad(Mist) and the original wielder of Samehada, I'd have to say pretty strong

He wouldn't be as powerful but he wouldn't be weak either.. don't you need high levels of chakra to use Samehada in the first place? Or so it doesn't betray you? Kisame's known for his Tailed-Beast level amount of chakra. He did use other swords before Samehada but I forgot whether it was filler or not.

He would still be pretty good without samehada, but he would be even better with it. He was called the tailless tailed beast for a reason, he had enormous chakra reserves even without samehada. And he could still absorb charkra without samehada (ask Aoba Yamashiro how he found out). Kisame did manage to kill fuguki to obtain samehada in the first place (a seven swordsmen member). The fight with gai was just a bad matchup on kisame's part. Kisame was already exhausted and resorted to a final technique to end the fight quick so he could return to akatsuki's hideout. I'm sure if his mission was to destroy or capture gai, the story could've been different (the killer bee fight would be a good example).

Sneak attack

Doesn't matter he still killed him, and he still had enough power after being hit by Hirudora to stop his mind from being read, send his message, and trap himself in a water prison and commit suicide

Since he was a great swordsmen even before getting Samehada and counting his large supply of chakra, he'd still be quite an opponent to take on.

He would still be powerful. We saw when he fought Gai he was able to do a super high level jutsu without. I imagine he would be quite powerful. But if he doesn't have his signature sword, we should imagine him with a normal broad sword then

He is still a power-house of chakra. And his water jutsus are above all, we have seen so far. Even without shamehada he is at the level of a tailed beast. His jutsu and fighting style is suited for it. He just got fooled by Gais hidoura, since it didn't contain chakra.
