Minato vs Itachi threads(debate with manga portrayal)

This is not a versus thread. I'm only comparing both characters like how i believe Kishi see them in this manga. There are a lot of threads where people believe that Itachi is equal or stronger than Minato, but is that so? Is it what the manga really implied? Is it really the same manga we are reading? I know that feats are important to judge someone level, but when comparing a character who appears one time in decades in this manga with someone who has excessively time to shine, i think that portrayal should also have a great place in our mind. I don't see people saying that Itachi would put Hashirama in a genjutsu, but what's funny is that when it comes to Minato, they downgrade the character forgetting his place in this manga.

Just to end up this debate concerning both characters, i decided to create this thread showing why i believe Kishi puts Minato above Itachi's league in this manga.

1- Kakashi fought Itachi and knows some extent of his power, even recognised that Itachi still had some jutsus in his sleeves, but this same Kakashi did say that no one besides Naruto maybe can surpass Minato:

So from Kakashi's point of view, Minato > Itachi

2- Jiraya also saw Itachi in action, saw Amaterasu and when he used tsukuyomi on Sasuke, saw some extent of his power. In fact, by portrayal, Jiraya is put on Itachi's level if not higher.

But even him still believed that everyone is pale in comparison to the 4th who had unparalled capacities:

So from Jiraya's point of view, Minato > Itachi

3- Itachi himself admitted that Minato was a great hokage

4- Hiruzen himself(God of Shinobi) qualified Minato as THE hero of the village

Curiously, kishi purposely portrays Minato in this scene just how to show how powerful Minato use. The fact is that Hiruzen used Minato's technique(albeit with less control) to defeat 2Hokages(Hashirama and Tobirama), and almost defeating Orochimaru along with them if not his old age(taking all his techniques with him though)

5- By feats, Minato without knowledge on his opponent he saw for the first time, fought and found his way to beat the crap out of Obito(who had full knowledge on Minato's abilities) and save the village and the future of the world by sealing the Kyubi's yin chakra forever and create the ultimate shinobi or saviour(Naruto). That Obito became apparently Itachi's master probably teaching or learning him everything

But more importantly, Itachi on the other hand with time advantage to analyse Obito thru decades admitted inferiority to Obito(who he thought was Madara) and mentioned the fact that he needed EMS to be able to surpass him

6- Obito said Itachi accomplished nothing else than the fail part

Itachi self admitted that he was a failure

Minato on the other hand was said to be someone who never makes errors

7- A saw or know the extent of all MS techniques(tsukuyomi, Amaterasu, Susanoo), but still believed that no one could surpass Minato

8- Kishi himself says that Minato had an unrivalled strength

I dont even need to counter this thread, because among the gazzillion pages you didnt show, most are Itachi feats against Minato lack of them and inconsistent hype. Any proper reader should put Itachi above Minato because Minato feats are almost not existant and quite circumstancial while Itachi's are not. /thread

Hmm... But Itachi's skills as portrayed in the manga paint him as pretty much above a kage level. I mean if itachi catches you in Izanami you're done. He doesn't even have to look at you, affects you regardless of your five senses.

The Student always surpasses the master like Minato surpassed his, this proves that Minato is stronger because in Naruto when itachi and kisame went for naruto, he mentioned Jiraiya would defeat them and if there were more the outcome would be the same. So Minato is stronger

If you had actually bothered to read the thread then you would've seen that this wasn't about who had the better feats. But i'm sure, being the unbiased guy you are, you came in with an open mind.

They r both pretty much equal, and u have to know somethings about itachi first of he is much younger then minato age wise and seconed he was sick in the entire manga if he wasn't he would rape everybody else, and I really respect these two character's because amongst a lot of powerful guys who got powerups (obito, Sasuke, naruto e.t.c.) these two didn't and the still raped a lot of guys so its gonna be a very close match but I think itachi takes this one ( maybe I am an itachi fanboy that's y he won Idk)

minato is underrated. its a strong character who uses only his simplest tech but people think thats his only tech lol. its like a strong character using only his finger to kill his opponent then this characters only attack is his finger.

minato is not the strongest in terms of power but he got a set of intelligence combined with speed and tech to win.
kishi hype minato on top coz minato according to him is the great ninja. from the start of his manga that naruto will soon to surpass in the end

this is a manga from japan which they have some sort of similarity from other manga where the main characters father was the strongest

Your forgetting that none of those characters saw the full potential of Itachi's power and intellegence. If they saw what Itachi went through and how he planned ahead for everything they would probably have a change of heart. Minato saved Konoha, Itachi saved the Shinobi world.

Personally I think Minato>Itatchi but the reality is in a battle anything can happen so we can never be sure, and even though this is a well thought out thread it is still a Minato Itatchi thread which has been done countless times. So what I'm saying is even if you change a few peoples views on the subject, the majority won't be affected so is it really needed?

They are shinobi of the same tier for me, both in skill and intelligence, although Minato would have better chances if direct fight between them occured.
