So like i've stated before, the sealing technique can be used to seal people/things not only on human bodies but even inside an object like a box for example. The sealing technique is powerful enough to seal half of Kyubis chakra plus Kushina's and Minato's remaining chakra. The sealing techniques needs 2things(summoning ceremonial throne and a target), but the sealing itself is instant and can be used from a decent distance. And if the sealing technique is operated, a sealing formula is carved into it

Since the sealing target(Naruto) was summoned far from the object/person that needs to be sealed(Kurama), it obviously means that even at that distance, the sealing method works perfectly. And Kyubi's size reduced because of the RDS, so he was able to move, maybe not freely, but still, reason why he even got the chance to stab Minato and Kushina when he intended to deal with Naruto.

I feel like you made a mistake somewhere because surely Minato couldn't still be alive after using rds. The Kyuubi was still restrained 1 way or another so maybe you should have added that asa. Requirement. I cant check what you did righkyt now

RDS doesn't kill the user directly. There is a time limit after the sealing technique is used. Reason why Minato said "it's about time for me to go" before casting Eight trigrams seal, and he said that quite a while after casting RDS. Proof of it:

Like you can see, he used it here but was still alive. It's only after that he used Eight trigrams seal to seal Kyubi
