While going through a thread, a thought just struck me and i've decided to make this theory.

What if the MS abilities any given Uchiha has are evolved in response to their surroundings?

To be more precise, my conjecture is that future MS abilities of any given Uchiha have a tendency to be similar to the kind of abilities the people they are around tend to display. Ofc this might just be the evolution of kishi's thought process but it seemed compelling enough.

In this thread i will consider three known Uchihas with the Mangekyuo, namely:

1. Itachi
2. Obito
3. Sasuke

1. Itachi

It was stated early on in the manga that, while growing up Itachi looked up to Shisui Uchiha as an elder brother. Its quite likely the two of them spent some time together, Itachi would have seen him fight, and more specifically his style of fighting.

Shisui was unrivaled at genjutsu, and later when Itachi awoke his own Mangekyuo he himself developed a very powerful genjutsu in tsukuyomi. Coincidence? Not many other uchiha have shown such a masterful illusion, even OP ones like Madara. Could it be that Shisui's tendency was somehow copied into Itachi by the proximity of the two?

2. Obito:

As we all know, Obito was in Kakashi's team and his sensei was none other than Minato, the 4th Hokage. He must have been part of that team for at least a reasonable amount of time, since he grew to love Rin his other teammate so much that he decided to become evil after her death.

We know that Obito knew the 4th was called the 'yellow flash', its natural that he would have witnessed his speed and s/t techs a number of times. Minato was a master at s/t ninjutsu, it seems to fit a patern then that Obito when he awakens his Mangekyuo that its also a s/t tech, namely Kamuii. Again, perhaps observing Minato's s/t somehow helped Obito develop or 'evolve' his own?

3. Sasuke:

This might not be a very good example and some people might disagree. But we all heard Danzo say Sasuke's illusions were not on Itachi's caliber. Now we know that Sasuke had Itachi's abilities and later his eyes, but his actual range of techs are somewhat different.

Sasuke was part of team 7, teammates with Naruto, an attack/offensive type fighter. Out of the two mangekyuo abilities Itachi gave him, is it again a coincidence that Sasuke managed to develop the offensive type(ametarasu) ability more than the others? Maybe being with an offense type fighter developed his own offensive MS ability more?

So to conclude, any given Uchiha who awakens the Mangekyuo has a tendency to get an ability that is similar to the type of ability the person he has fought with, been with the most/often used to have as explained in each of the examples i gave above. Thoughts?

Note: who knows, maybe kishi is a neo darwinist lol.

Yeah, that's why Madara/Obito want to use the moon for infinite tsukuyomi, cuz they can't use it at full potential.Seems legit!

Amusing........could be.........anything is possible.
Yeah.....Masashi darwin lol.
Plausible. Good job maan
Thanks.
good point,MS seems to reflect the desire for power of each one of the user's role models
Exactly. That's pretty much the gist of the theory in a nutshell. Except its more accurate to say its the desire of the user to have a power similar to their role model(or rival, in Sasuke's case).

Had Kishimoto not been Kishimoto, I probably would've agreed but this is a far too subtle approach for his style of writing. I somehow sincerely doubt he gave such environmental factors any thought, and even if it were the case I don't see how this would affect the story much.

But, great theory nonetheless. You definitely deserve some rep.
Yes thats why as i said this is just a theory. I saw a pattern and made a conjecture based off that. Nothing more.
Ty.

Excellent display of analytical skills much like myself ;)
I'd like to finish off your thread by showing some analysis and theory involving the remaining Uchiha that awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan.

First of Shisui. Well his father, Kagami Uchiha was an honorable shinobi following the 'Will of Fire' who was devoted to Tobirama. So much that he would sacrifice himself for the sake of the village and for the Hokage just like the rest of his team. Shisui may have been influenced by his father's loyalty to the Second Hokage almost like he's manipulating him, obviously in a good way though. One of the main abilities of a sharingan is to easily recognize genjutsu and different forms of chakra, some predictive capabilities, as well as the ability to copy techniques that the user sees amongst other things. This is kinda like the user having control over the situation whether it's a real fight or practice.

A little enigmatic to understand but seems legit. :p

As for Madara Uchiha it's kinda difficult but I can try. :O Since Madara awakened the sharingan in times of war, he was obsessed with the desire of protecting the people he loved whether it was his family, clansmen or friends. He came to the point of despair due to Tobirama's incredulity and paranoia which gave way for darkness to enter his heart and impurify his soul. Thus he lusted for power and wanted to become like a God.

Currently we can see that he is adept in using his Susano and the jutsu he has to protect himself and one who is close to him at the moment(Obito). Madara's sharingan resembles a mitsudomoe design with 3 holes. Mitsudomoe is a representative of the threefold division; Man, Earth and Sky at the heart of the Shinto religion. This could imply he is in control of the World and everything in it like a God and is responsible for it's just protection.

Tell me what you think. :)
