Has anyone in Naruto series ever killed an enemy with a kunai or shuriken? Because kunai and shuriken seem pretty useless and I dont recall anyone ever killing an enemy with it.
iruka gets one in the back when naruto steals the forbidden scroll ;) he wouldve died unless naruto had protected him, another example-zabuza with kunai in mouth(as his arms are useless after kakashi's dogs,he takes out all the henchman U_U also thundergod jutsu could be considered ;)

Yes zabuza killed those paws with the kunai, yet they were not really ninjas, they were like more body guards or mercenaries. What I meant was ninja vs ninja, but thanks for the heads up on zabuza (totally overlooked that situation).

I was talking with a friend and he said that in the first naruto movie, kazahana dotou killed a few samurai with kunais shot from a "kunai repeating gun" attached to a train. I checked it and you can see it between minutes 43 and 47.

Still not ninja vs ninja... And I still have the feeling that kunais and shurikens arent very efective in battle because every ninja has very good aim and always seem to be able to deflect any kunais and shurikens.

well are they directly used for killing? under certain circumstances i guess(tenten, zabuza, mizuki and probablly more) but they seem to be more for distraction and traps than anything else

that makes sense, they are probably tools that have to be used wisely otherwise they're pretty useless.. **

Haku used his Ice Mirrors technique to increase the speed of his movement, but he more or less "killed" Sasuke using senbon (even though Sasuke came back to life), so it's not really limited to "less important ninja."

Also, Itachi killed hundreds of his fellow Uchiha clan members using shuriken and kunai. The Uchiha were considered geniuses throughout the village and although they were expendable characters you can clearly see their bodies on the ground with kunai and shuriken sticking out in Sasuke's flashback in the anime.

But weapons in general are primarily an accessory to the ninja in the naruto universe, one which tends to require a lot of deception and planning to be used successfully. I think it's also probably cheaper, in battle, to use a kunai or shuriken as a distraction than a jutsu which costs chakra (a limited resource) which is why we see them used like this so often.
