Interesting theory but there are quiet a few parts that i do not agree, ill wrap it up.
The only thing that supports your theory on the sage having more than 2 bro's are a whole host of things. First is the gin/kin bro's who apparently are related to the sage. Second is how the clans are distributed. Im also starting to believe that all the kg abilities we have seen are all from him. So juugo's clans ability to absorb natural energy and kayuga's clans Shikotsumyaku. Perhaps thats why kabuto claims he is the closest to the sage. The only thing that disagree's with this is hashirama/madara and naruto/sasuke. More importantly the yin/yang symbol
Btw read more on "six Buddhist Paths of Reincarnation" that might help you out.
About the magatama ill pm you something that will blow your mind
Wow, this was really quite amazing I'm a little iffy on the whole Elder Son/Younger Son swapping thing, but it does make sense how the Senju suppressed the Uchiha and Madara was trying to create a perfect world, so you might be right there. The only reason I don't agree with it was because it conflicts with the whole Will of Fire thing, and because Madara still tried to attain power on several occasions, so he kinda follows the ideals of both Elder AND Younger.
However, the main part of the thread, the bit about the Six Paths; I'm agreeing with you almost 100% there. Even if Kishi never actually explains it in-depth, unless he contradicts it I'm going to go with this. The last panel gives me all the evidence I need; what Paths were Tobi referring to if he didn't mean something like this? And the legend goes that the Sharingan evolved from the Byakugan, but that legend would make sense if it was really that The Hyuga and the Uchiha were two branches of the Sage; they both received benefits of his eyes.
It's really an incredible theory; the Sage was the original jutsu user and the original Rinnegan wielder; of course, this means that he also created the Six Paths technique that both Nagato and Tobi use with their Rinnegan. So the Six Paths of the Sage were his six sons/daughters. The Sage used his Giver of Life technique (or whatever it was called, I'm sure you know what I'm referring to ) to create the sons and used them as his Paths; but, due to the power of the Sage, they were living beings who could carry on bloodlines.
This also explains the different abilities of the descendant clans. When Nagato had his Six Paths, they all possessed Rinnegan, and when Tobi used it his Paths (the dead jinchuuriki) all had a Sharingan in their right eye and a Rinnegan in their left. The point being, they all possessed traits of the wielder. So when the Sage made his, he diversed it a little and gave each path different traits; the Uzumaki had extremely long lifespans and colossal chakra levels, the Uchiha had powerful eyes and chakra, the Senju had amazing life force and physical energy, the Hyuga's had a different type of powerful eye as well as stunning chakra control and precision, etc.
I'm thinking the other two bloodlines are the Akimichi and the Aburame; Konoha is said to have four "Noble" clans; the two I just mentioned, the Uchiha, and the Hyuga. Add in the Senju and the Uzumaki and you have your six clans, or Paths.
In addition, each of these six clans can be compared to the Six Paths:
Uchiha: The Deva Path - The most powerful of the Paths, possessing the most power. Can use powerful gravity jutsu, comparable in concept to the abilities of the Mangekyo Sharingan (that is, abilities of immense power).
Senju: Naraka Path - The Naraka Path summons the King of Hell to interrogate and above all, restore life to damaged bodies. The Senju had great physical energy and Hashirama was an absolute demon at Medical Ninjutsu; in fact, of the three main Senju shown so far (Hashirama, Tobirama, and Tsunade), two have been shown to be prodigies in Medical Ninjutsu.
Uzumaki: Preta Path - The Preta Path had the ability to absorb an infinite amount of chakra, giving basis to the Uzumaki's enormous chakra reserves and long lifespans.
Hyuga: Human Path - The Human Path can remove the soul of anyone they touch and read their minds; this calls to mind the Byakugan and it's ability to "see through the opponent". A little farfetched, but what have you...Anyway, the Hyuga's excellent vision allows them to detect the slightest change in chakra nature and easily detect when someone is under Genjutsu, which could almost be seen as reading their opponent.
Akimichi: Asura Path - The Asura Path had the ability to augment its body with mechanical weaponry, similar to the way that the Akimichi's (Choji and Choza) expand and manipulate their own body parts.
Aburame: Animal Path - The Animal Path is the one that summons all the crazy crazy animals, just as the Aburame are aided by external creatures they have a contract with: The bugs.
So in summary, I believe that this theory is completely correct ^_^ Good job, you've given me a lot to think about.
1. Senju were the elder brother.
2. Sage have been divided into 6 clans.
@2, well manga itself said so, i forgot about it .
@1. First of all project tsukinomi was madara's plan. He took help of the tablet written by the son with the eyes i suppose.
And leading the world by keeping it in a genjutsu is a foolish idea. basically, madara is the one who wants to rule the world and he can do it once everyone are in his genjutsu.
Also , even though hashi and madara founded konoha, hashi was chosen hokage. Why do you think so? because he leaded the world in peace and harmony continuing the will of fire.
hashi represent the younger son, the one with the body. He was the one who believed in equality. he was the one who spread 9 bijjus equally .
Hence your attempt was very good, but kishi doesn't want to imply what you are thinking
Wow... That last point, where tobi says "Two of the 6 paths are now one!" really made me believe there is more to the story than we were lead to believe
Can't believe kishi would make such a big error. He would xplain these things ultimately. Btw, mutations do happen during evolution. This may xplain origin of hyuuga and uzumaki.
The question the Sage asked was what was the key for world peace. Madara is searching for Power in order to provide Love as the tool for world peace. For himself he sicks power but for the world he sicks love as the key to peace.
As for Hashirama, his actions were in order to maintain the balance of power. He scattered the tailed beasts to give the villages a balance of power. That is sicking Peace via Power!! Not love. In fact his actions gave birth to wars and not peace. Villages attacking each other for the Bijuus and eventually lead to two Great Ninja Wars.
Rendering the action of giving out the Bijuus to other villages as an act of love is pure madness.
The reason Tobi didn't speak about the other paths was simply because that would have not helped him on planting in Naruto's mind that the conflict with Sasuke was inevitable.
Tobi wanted Naruto and Sasuke to believe that killing eachother is an inevitable outcome. Adding extra points of view would have been counter producing.
This is long but it's worth reading, I tried to break it as much as I could so please do not give up half way through!
So I was wondering...
What do we know for a fact that can be reliable on?
1st - The Sage had two sons.
2nd - One was born with the eyes of the sage and his powerful chakra, the Elder, the other was born with the sage's body and physical life force, the Younger.
3rd - The Elder brother gave birth to the Uchiha and their powerful chakra and Sharingan. The Younger brother gave birth to the Senju and their large amount of chakra and strong bodies.
These are facts!...
Or are they?
Let's deconstruct these facts form the bottom up, and analyse them with the info given to us by the very same person who was the source to all we know of the two brothers.
As the last is always the first let's start with the third and the second.
The Juubi and his Jinchuriki:
The Sage in order to control the Juubi had to seal the beast inside of himself, therefore becoming (supposedly as this was never actually confirmed) the very first Jinchuriki.

Later, when he was older, the sage divided the Juubi's chakra into Nine newly created forms. That little resemblance had with the Juubi. But his form was like the scan below shows:

If we pay attention we will see that the tomoes that compose the famous Sharingans are displayed in the Juubi's eye.
So far so good, but then it get's tricky...
The Sage sealed the Juubi inside himself, and we can assume that just like the later Jinchurikis, chakra from the sealed beast must have leaked into the Sage's own chakra. Giving him physical treats of the beast. These treats are thought to have been passed down to one of his sons, hence why later on the Uchiha's ended up with a dojutso that was extremely similar to the Juubi's eye.
Yet as one son received these treats inevitably passed down by the Juubi via the Sage, the other seem to have been untouched by the Juubi's influence.

This would represent no problem unless!... Gods be good!! it was the older son that was affected and the younger that born untethered. What an odd thing to happen, did the Sage unsealed the Juubi from within himself between the birth of the two brothers? But that's impossible! He only did that when he was very old and close to his death!
The answer is simple, the so called Younger brother is actually the Elder brother! Hence why Hashirama wanted to enforce the Hidden Villages System which relayed on Power to maintain the peace, as of Madara he wants to create a world where there is no war, no suffer only love, where everybody is a winner and no one needs leaders and is free to be happy.
There was an error in the story Tobi/Obito told us, the two brothers were misplaced. Probably the Elder brother (Father to the Senju) tried to hide the truth by twisting the answers and hence taking the title of heir to the Sage of Six Paths to himself. And the Younger brother (Father to the Uchiha) was labelled as a Hater and an enemy of peace. The resemblance of his eyes with the eyes of the Juubi probably took a big role on making the people believing the Elder brother, as they maybe still remember the sight of the Juubi and mistrusted the eyes of the Younger brother.
Now with that clear let's move on to the final and first point.
We know that this Younger and Elder brother were sons of the Sage, but why do we say they are the sons of the Sage? Why would ther only be two? In fact Tobi/Obito hints that this is not the case at all.

Here he says that the Senju and the Uchiha were once one and the same, and that the Sage was the two boodlines in one. But unlike many here in the base like to state as a dogma, Tobi/Obito does not state that Senju and Uchiha in a single blood line were all that the Sage was.
He actually implies quite otherwise that Senju and Uchiha (Elder and Younger) merely and only part of what the Sage was. The two clans are only two of the 6! Each clan a Path, the Senju and the Uchiha are two of the Paths.
Manga Proof:

This means that the Sage had more sons, sons who must have inherited some of the Sage's prodigeous powers and probably some of the Juubi's too. Sons that could have had treats from both the Elder and Younger or even different ones. One of these 6 sons must have been the Father (or Mother) to the Uzumaki.
With the life force of the Senju and the ability to control the Rinnegan, it's a mix without being neither!
So this is my theory about the sons of the Sage, the 6 Paths!
Pretty dang good. The scan was the only real part of it that made me think the whole 2 of the six paths part so touche. lol + Rep as soon as i find out how to work this dang system lmao
That's not true... Hashirama did force the other countries into forming hidden villages with the threat of being wipep from the map, due to the unbalance of force. You can say that Hashirama is the single responsible for the escalation of war in the Shinobi world. Before Hashirama's Hidden Villages system there had never been a Great Ninja War and a direct consequence of his actions lead to not only one but two.
Hashirama may not have forced anyone into doing anything but he conjectured the circumstances where other needed to sick power and conglomerate it in order to survive. That is Hashirama's Legacy, the huge War Potentates that go by the name of Hidden Villages.

But the Uchiha use force as well.
Forcing people to live in a genjutsu, by getting all kinds of powers by force (mokuton and such) is peace through power and force.
You overpower the others.
Senju and Uchiha both have examples of force.
The will of fire could be an example of peace through love.
and Itachi and Shisui their way of saracaficing themselfs for the greater good, could be seen as trying peace through love as well (although Itachi tryed to use koto amatsukami and Shisui as well, which is force).
Just like it said, it depends on from which perspective you look at it.
So far, Uzumaki have respresented love.
Mito ''the vessel needs to be filled with love''.
Kushina her love and sacrafice allowed Naruto to succeed in his training with Bee.
Nagato was changed by Naruto his ways (love and forgiveness) and saraficed himself to save others.
Naruto is all about love as well.
and Karin in a way xd.
