Uhmm no Samehada is simply not the same as the wood dragon. Samehada is able to asorb chakra and feed it to it's owner. Mokoton does not have the ability to feed the asorbed chakra to it's owner.

Actually you can't say that for sure. We don't know everything it can do it barely was in two chapters. It may be able to feed the owner chakra, but you can't say that for sure either because that wasn't stated as well. So as far as we know it can't feed the owner chakra, but it hasn't said that it can't.

I think the Wood Dragon absorbs chakra to grow. Not like Samehada but rather like his Shark Bullet that also absorbs chakra to grow bigger and stronger.
