When you think about it aswell have any of the new generation really designed their own techniques?other than working off old ones from the older generation?i.e. sasuke>kakashi and naruto>minato ???

I was thinking about this too. I was thinking if the new generation was the same age as the old generation, would they still surpass them? creating your own jutsus in my opinion is much more valuable than working off existing ones. but that's how progress works I guess.
well Naruto did the pervert jutsu and the harem one...they are uselles though!

not that I can think of. everything is based on the older principals. they have only found new ways to tweak it.
Exactly i mean kakashi aka the copy ninja,even he was able to create his own jutsu?!Minato showing his genious created rasengan but was not able to complete due to the circumstances.Would sasuke or naruto have any good techniques otherwise???It makes you wonder really seeing as sasuke is meant to be a genious,the fact he's using someone elses technique.Would you not expect him to create his own?
It would be super awesome if Kishi had at least Naruto come up with a completely new and different jutsu of his own. Then he would really deserve to be known on the level as one of the legendary Sannin or Konoha Yellow Flash.
I think i would have more respect for them if they did come up with their own moves,i mean how many times will he rely on the fox or use rasengan?I would have preferred to at least see him use his own version of Thunder God jutsu utilizing kage bunshins and incorprating rasengans maybe.Hopefully he will come up with something of his own(i don't think this will happen though until he at least becomes hokage) i mean what happened to the forbidden scroll he learnt kage bunshin from?it was there one minute then gone the next?could he not have learnt more from it?
Thats what ive been asking myself for a while now,i mean why is kage bunshin a forbidden technique?To do as many as naruto they would have to have a formidable amount of chakra like naruto wouldn't they?It was also a very big scroll,so this means there must have been several in it for the shinobi to want to steal it, and for a kid like naruto to steal it?How can a forbidden scroll of such significance become obsolete after that?
I just looked it up. Kage bunshin is only the first technique in the scroll. Mizuki also says that scroll was used to seal the Kyuubi within Naruto. The third says that scroll could be very dangerous, which leads me to believe it could unleash Kyuubi out of Naruto. But I wonder what else was in it, and how it differs from the Keyscroll frog.
He can at least change the Shadows clones in something that uses his wind like Kakashi can use Lighting clone and Kisame water clones they are better that than the Normal clones and he could add something to it
And Devlin i agree on everything you said the new generation will surpas the previos one and also folow theirs steps

Hmmm maybe it will come back into play at some point?Also brings up the theory that was floating around about the chakra of the fox being split in 2 (ying/yang) alot like how the 8 tails was split between the 2 brothers?Maybe the 8 tail and the 9 tail have that much chakra that it must be split?
but that's not something new really. If clones can perform jutsu, then they can perform Henge (transformation jutsu). Even though I've only seen Naruto's clones perform Henge, I still think it's something normal.
