Can Jiraya solo Suna?

in all honesty as much as i like suna.. they seem to have relatively week ninja apart from gaara, temari and kakuro oh and chiyo and was sasori other than that there is really no notable ninja there but i think gaara alone could somewhat stop jiraiya

I think your overrating Gaara if you think he can stop Jiraya alone :|

I think Suna will stop Jiraiya. Jiraiya is no Pain and thats a fact. Having one ninja take on a whole group of Chunins, Jounins, Anbu and a Kage is to much.
-Even if they aren't note worthy having a 100 ninjas take on 1, the 100 should win.

+ Jiraiya doesn't have huge powermoves like shinra tensei / C3 to blow up most of the village..

Sasuke defeated more than thousand sound ninjas alone, same goes for Sandaime Raikage, Sasori defeated a countery by himself, Kakashi/Gai defeated more than 50sound ninjas in part1 with relativ ease, Minato defeated more than 50shinobis in the blink of an eye, same goes for Obito. I think the power level is important

Well, he only defended himself the most he could against them, it's not as if he did something impressiv and at the end, he was screwed. Someone like Jiraya could have defeated them with yomi numa for example. He has a vast arsenal in ninjutsu that can make Susanoo useless

If i'm not mistaken, the context of this page was that Jiraiya had warned Suna of an impending Akatsuki attack... He then says Suna was on the move to prevent infiltration and attack. I think that here, Jiraiya was just assuming all the Akatsuki were his level or higher and he was simply wondering "even with all their security, could they prevent someone like me from entering/infiltrating their city to attack it?"

i don't think Jiraiya was at all saying he could take on Suna itself and win... he was merely referring to entering the country undetected and was wondering if Suna/Gaara would be safe from Akatsuki. of COURSE i don't think Jiraiya was arrogant enough to believe he could single-handedly take on Suna itself. He probably knew he could defeat Gaara 1-on-1 though, no question.

Itachi only said so he wouldn't have to fight Jiraya....remember he was an agent of the Leaf
