Theory about Hiruzen

The Theory
It was said that Hiruzen Sarutobi mastered and was able to use all of the jutsu in Konoha. Is it possible that he was capable of using some of the Hiden Techniques in Konoha?


Proof of Theory
It has been noted that Hiden Techniques such as the Nara's Shadow Imitation and the Yamanaka's Mind Body Transfer techniques are not Kekkai Genkai, and they are simply guarded secrets within their respective clans. It would be too time consuming to find the actual page this is stated, so I will just quote the Naruto Wiki's entry on Hiden Techniques.

Hiden (秘伝; Literally meaning "secret tradition") or simply "secret" techniques are passed down orally from generation to generation in certain regions or clans.

The groups who possess these techniques are usually extremely secretive about them in order to ensure that no one other than the members of the group or clan learn them. As such, they are passed down through oral means instead of being written down or recorded. A few hiden techniques require a special ability or lineage and as such are usually the pride and fame of the clan that possesses them. The Nara clan's Shadow Imitation Technique and the Aburame clan's Parasitic Destruction Insect Technique are examples of this. These technique also cannot be copied through any means of simple observation.

They are not to be confused with kekkei genkai, a technique that requires a specific genetic ability, as technically, hiden techniques can be taught to anyone.

That is the entry on Hiden Techniques from the Naruto Wikia, which I'm sure is a reputable source of information. Technically, these Hiden Techniques are native to Konoha, so perhaps Hiruzen had the ability to use them to some extent.


Although we haven't seen it, and it is unlikely, perhaps Hiruzen did have knowledge of these techniques.

I think Hiruzen was called "The Professor" because he knows every jutsu in Konoha, not mastered. That's why Oro wants to get sharingan and evolve it.

Yes, I did mention in the post that they are guarded secretes within the clan, but I also mentioned that Hiruzen Sarutobi was noted to know every technique in Konoha. This is simply a theory, but those techniques are from Konoha... get where I'm coming from?

I don't think he knew how to use them, and even if he did, they aren't that impressive. I just like to think about things like this

Before Deidara and Kakuzu left their villages they stole their hidden jutsu, so clearly it is possible. And with Hiruzen being one of the most loved hokage and one of the most constructive when it comes to jutsu, it's likely that the clans liked him enough to teach their secrets to him, or he was resourceful enough to learn them by sight, like neji could.

i see where u coming from but when they said new every tech in konoha im pretty sure it meant all the techs on the scrolls for example the one that naruto stoll in the beginning ..

I just assumed that if one is able to use a certain technique, then he has mastery of it.
The level of mastery may vary of course. For example, both Gai and Lee are considered masters of Taijutsu, but one of them is better at it than the other, right? Regarding where it says this, I have seen it on on that Manga scan Hiruzen fanboys love to throw around.

I think hizuren might have known all these jutsu. Hizuren is the longest reigning hokage. It is very likely that he gained the trust of every clan in the village to such a degree that they let him in on their jutsu. Not all but some like he may know the basics like shadow mimic but not the other nara techs. It is likely since he is such a skilled ninja who has lived for almost 70 years and has seen three wars he may have the skill, time and the means

Doesn't really matter if the techniques are shit or not. This thread was a theory; and it was not meant to make Hiruzen look more powerful in any way. Just wondering what the extent of his knowledge might have been.
