the sage got his rinnegan from birth i thought.. sealing technique's alone would not have been enought to seal the juubi.. the rinnegan would have givenhim the abilities needed to keep the juubi at bay and eventually seal it.

no,do u remember the sage is the father of senjus,uchihas,uzumaki and is a master of fuinjutsu,fuinjutsu at the sages level is extraordinary.take a look at juubis eyes,the sage,and uchihas three tomoe,you will get the picture

Ok .... If u can tell me even one fuinjustsu which can beat jubbi .... the deat reaper seal is the highest level fuinjutsu which requires the sacrifice of life n it cant even beat 9 tails.... how can a fuinjutsu seal a juubi without properly weakening him

My theory is that sage had reningan from birth n when he sealed 10 tails in him the genes mutated a little n his desendents started having sharingan
