Couldn't Obito summon Gedo Mazo w/o Rinnegan?

Madara says to Obito that if he never got the Rinnegan he could still control the Mazo due to his Senju/Uchiha powers.

Some may say that he only meant that he could control it, but not summon it; but why would Madara bother telling him he could control it w/o Rinnegan, if he couldn't summon it to control it.

So this should mean that you need Rinnegan or Senju/Uchiha to summon the Gedo Mazo.

Nagato already had Madaras Rinnegan when Madara said this to Obito. It was the entire plan to manipulate Nagato so I guess both Madara and Obito figured that sooner or later Nagato would summon the statue. Obito just had to wait and control it when the time was ready. He only took the Rinnegan to summon it later and to make use of the 6 paths

He knew Nagato would be able too summon it . And if Nagato wasnt willing to use the Gedo too help them. Obito could since he can control the Gedo also. But this is a guess!

But if Nagato wouldn't help them, he wouldn't summon the Mazo, and if Obito couldn't summon it then, Madara and Obito would be screwed since their plan would never happen.

He might of been able to but once nagato gave his life of konoha he took the rinnegan to make sure of it. Also for it's abilities.

The original was summoned from the MOON. This was performed by Madara only AFTER HE OBTAINED THE RINNEGAN. He could not and did not summon the body until after his doujutsu changed. I dont think Obito could summon it with just the DNA.
