The purpose of this thread is not at all to raise a flame war, I just wanted people to know what is happening around the world, and how messed up humans can get. As the title suggests, the topic is Palestine. One of the issue in the world that still remains unresolved and justice has not been done to it. The explicit topic is Gaza War, a war that started in Late December of 2008, as a defensive measures to stop Gaza's rocket fires on Israel. The issue has a very old background but we will keep it to the context of what is newest.

"The Gaza War, in Israel known as Operation Cast Lead (מבצע עופרת יצוקה‎) and in Gaza and by Hamas known as the Gaza Massacre (مجزرة غزة‎) or the Battle of al-Furqan [the criterion] (معركة الفرقان‎)", there is always two sides to every conflict and many people tend to look at them in the hope of finding who is right and who is wrong. If you corner a representative of one side and listen to his/her story you will find utter truth and sincerity, then you do the same with the opposing side and you will find yourself in the melancholic condition in which you are asked to judge. What we don't see is what that thing has been imposing in the present state, what is it effecting NOW?

Gaza war is one of them, people go on talking about who is right and who is wrong but how I see it is the present that is being explicitly put forth to us. I was forced to make this thread just to tell people of the conditions in Gaza strip, what forced me was my emotions. I literally cried when I did some research to learn more about what was really happening their and many other places across the world. This is a tid bit of what I am about to show you;

"The conflict resulted in between 1,166 and 1,417 Palestinian and 13 Israeli deaths (4 from friendly fire). According to the Shin Bet, subsequent to the conflict, there was a decrease of Palestinian rocket attacks. In September 2009, a UN special mission, headed by the South African Justice Richard Goldstone, produced a controversial report accusing both Palestinian militants and Israeli Defense Forces of war crimes and possible crimes against humanity, and recommended bringing those responsible to justice. In January 2010, the Israeli government released a response criticizing the Goldstone Report and disputing its findings. In 2011, Goldstone wrote that he no longer believed that Israel intentionally targeted civilians in Gaza. The other authors of the report, Hina Jilani, Christine Chinkin and Desmond Travers, rejected Goldstone's reassessment. However, the United Nations Human Rights Council did not agree and ordered Israel to conduct various repairs of the damages. On September 21, 2012, the United Nations Human Rights Council concluded that 75% of civilian homes destroyed in the attack were not rebuilt."

I don't know about you, but when I read it, I asked myself what if that was where I lived, what if I went through that? The feeling that I suffered from just an assumption was not healthy at all, it hurt me to the most. If that is not enough, I managed to witness some of the pictures posted on various news articles in which people were holding their dead children, some did not even learn to walk yet were victims of such an inhuman act.

And yes, these are all desperate acts to show people what is happening in some unfortunate places of the world. Facts from;

Thanks for making this thread Blizz — As in every vicious military offensive Israel carries out in Gaza, the dominant narrative is that it is a response to rocket fire from Gaza into southern Israel. This is how it’s being reported in the US, and this is how virtually every American understands it.

It’s true that on Saturday, prior to the expanded Israeli bombardment, the military wing of the Popular Front For the Liberation of Palestine vehicle near the Gaza border, wounding four Israeli soldiers. But what prompted the firing of the anti-tank missile?

First, on Monday, November 5th, when he “approached the border fence with Israel.” According to at least one account, Nabhani was mentally challenged.

Then, on Thursday, November 8th, the Israeli Occupation Forces – eight tanks and four bulldozers, to be exact – invaded southern Gaza, shooting and killing a 13-year old boy. Palestinian Centre for Human Rights [ ]:

According to investigations conducted by PCHR, at approximately 16:30 on Thursday, as a result of the indiscriminate shooting by IOF military vehicles that had moved into the ‘Abassan village, 13-year-old Ahmed Younis Khader Abu Daqqa was seriously wounded by a bullet to the abdomen. At the time he was shot, Ahmed had been playing football with his friends in front of his family’s house, located nearly 1,200 meters away from the area where the IOF were present.
So, even if honest observers brush to the side the and refuse to let it influence the equation of exactly which side started this flare up of violence, it is clear Israel started this latest clash. And in response to the response, Israel has waged a harsh, disproportionate military assault.

This would be a simple thing to understand if, for example, Western media bothered to ask the other side what happened. Palestinian news media that the anti-tank missile Israel was supposedly responding to was admitted to by the Popular Resistance Committees, who described it as “revenge” for preceding Israeli violence on Gaza. But that basic task of honest journalism is apparently out of the question.

Every single Israeli incursion or attack on Gaza is accompanied by the same narrative: Israel fairly responded to unprovoked Palestinian rocket fire. The last major war on Gaza, Operation Cast Lead in December ’08-January ’09, also carried this narrative. Israel committed war crimes in that one-sided conflict, targeting and killing hundreds of civilians, using indiscriminate weapons, and intentionally destroying civilian infrastructure. It has become an accepted fact – even among critics of Israel – that the offensive was a response to Hamas rocket fire. The rocket fire did indeed occur immediately before the assault, but , which even Hamas had kept to.

The sad thing is, most of us can barely even imagine it. All we've been exposed to at most is the thrill in war inspired games and movies. Like jonaTHEninja said, I will pray for them all I can. The most we can do, is pray, educate ourselves and inform others around us from a non-judgemental view. I live in a home where the arabic news is on almost 24/7 so we have visuals of the explosives and stuff...its not pretty, and it only shames you further when you see them blame it all on the Jews. It's the select government that's causing this genocide.
I heard yesterday they planned to cut off all communication with Gaza.

There are two sides to any war...both think they're in the right but neither is. In war, the only way to win is to get the people on your side, those that aren't fighting it. That's what counts, and as long as you have the masses on your side, you'll win...that doesn't make it right though. It's all propaganda. People on both sides are suffering equally, it's just one side has decided to win the favor of the people, that is all.

The situation is actually a pitiful one, I mean children getting killed and all that, I hope it all ends soon and the tyrants put to justice, that's all I hope and besides shouldn't the UN be doing something? Yes but the UN is totally controlled by the elite who are in support of Israel. I Hope God's help and mercy comes soon.

What do you mean by select government?

No.

If the government payed me one Billion US dollars to walk in to your house claim it as my own and you fought back against me would I then be justified in calling it an unwarranted attack against me? What did Israel expect a frigging welcoming party? When they blasted their way in and threw down a flag a said “God said it’s ours!” They then proceeded to steal land and sell it to each other while terrorizing the people who live there. And somehow it’s wrong for them to fight back?

Seriously?

If Israel were to lay down their guns tomorrow, there would be no war. If Palestine were to lay down theirs, there would be no more Palestine.

Wake up.

THIS ^^^^

When he brought up the Native Americans I was like, PREACH IT!

Why doesn't the U.S military stop this, we spend trillions on over seas defenses :(................
The US gives more in Financial, Military & Medical aid to Israel per year than it gives to the entire continent of Africa.

There are no two sides in this. It's plain genocide and racist hatred combined. Israeli settlers + militants vs. defenseless palestinian citizens.

I found these video:

HAMAS TERRORISTS KILL INNOCENT PALESTINIAN IN GAZA (RARE VIDEO) AND THEN REPORT THEM AS ISRAELI MURDERS

Learn how debased and evil the Palestinian fight against Israel truly is. Israel are victims, not aggressors. Hamas is not only killing Israeli’s. They are killing their own Palestinian people. After killing their own children and people, Hamas pretends Israel is the one killing the people. In fact, Israel issues an announcement whenever they strike against Palestine. They strike after perpetual provocation and attacks.

This Arab presenter shows rare video clips taken by a Palestinian civilian which shows Hamas interrupting a wedding celebration, slaughtering their own people. The presenter says people are mad and ignorant to support Palestinian cause, and even Westerners are so naive they stand on the side of Palestine without having any grasp of reality.

The narrator says “I can’t understand why the whole world is anti Israel, while the real terrorists are Hamas? This Video proves that, most of the Palestinian are brain-washed by the Hamas or just scare to talk! What do you have to say now?”.

This is how it works with the Palestinians:

Either way there will never be peace with these people.

We live in sad times with lies going on in both sides.

Okay, so you really do believe Palestine is innocent? What about the random mortar attacks launched at Israel on a regualar basis? Israel used to own a whole lot of land, not just the tiny part they have now. The UN put them in the middle of their enemies, their surrounded by people that believe their whole existance is centered around the destruction of Israel. It seems you're listening to the propaganda and buying it wholesale...I'm not surprised. xd

I wouldn't call them defenseless, the terrorists hide among the people and use women and children as meat shields.
