The battle raged on with Cho and Katsura fighting against their unnamed opponent while Itachi and three Kumogakure ninja, stripped of their free will by Kaoru, fought against a highly skilled female opponent who called herself Yuki. The screeching of metallic blades against each other and the sound of various ninja techniques and weapons colliding composed the unpleasant melody of battle.
Yuki: Nice moves Itachi.
The female opponent commented as she side-stepped yet another slash of Itachi's blade much the the Uchiha's chagrin. He lunged for another attack with his sword but as he speedily approached her, he immediately sheathed his blade and unleashed a volley of shuriken while spewing fire unto each weapon as it was launched.
Itachi: Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Flower Nail Crimson!
Yuki saw the incoming attack and sealed her blade as well, then formed an intricate set of hand seals before spewing a large volume of water unto the ground. The water instantly rose up to form a circular wall with Yuki in the middle.
Yuki: Water Release: Water Encampment Wall
The water deflected Itachi's fire-coated shuriken before collapsing to the ground, ending the technique. Yuki observed, much to her shock, that Itachi was nowhere to be found. She turned her attention to the ceiling where she saw the Uchiha standing upside down while forming a set of hand seals.
Itachi: Water Release: Water Fang Bullet.
The liquid remnants of Yuki's wall of water ascended from the ground and shaped themselves into four drills which attempted to force their way into her legs from different directions. She quickly took notice and leapt upwards to evade where she met Itachi who moved for a side slash with his sword, she parried the attack and both combatants retreated, creating some distance between themselves. Yuki watched in shock as Itachi and everyone else present dissolved into a flock of crows. The black birds circled her in great numbers and a few of them joined together and took Itachi's shape. There was no doubt about it, she had fallen under a genjutsu.
Itachi: You were careless. When we met in mid-air, you stared into my Sharingan for a brief second and now you have lost.
Elsewhere, Cho and Katsura faced off against Yuki's comrade who proved more than a match for both as he skillfully evaded their attacks.
Cho: Damn it! I can't land a hit!
Cho complained in frustation. He had tried the Inuzuka tradmark Tsuuga attack in combination with various techniques from Katsura to act as distractions, all to no avail.
Katsura: It seems the captain is done so we should be getting some backup.
Upon hearing this, Cho turned his attention to Itachi's battle where the Uchiha's opponent stood completely still in front of him, obviously trapped in a genjutsu. The three Kumo ninja Kaoru had possessed immediately ran towards Cho and Katsura while Itachi remained still, it was clear that he was conversing with his defeating opponent through the illusion.
Cho: Itachi-taichou is busy but at least we have Kaoru's pets.
The five man team comprising of Cho, Katsura and the three Kumo ninja under Kaoru's control turned their attention to their opponent. The man was visibly perturbed, his face not as relaxed as when the battle began. He stared at Itachi with a grimace through narrowed eyes camped underneath furrowed eyebrows as his face wore a frown. A silence fell on every ninja present.
Man: Damn Yuki...getting caught in a genjutsu.
Cho: Seems we almost have this wrapped up. Once we are done with you, we'll get Kiyosato and leave. The captain will surely determine who you guys are after probing your comrade's mind for information and we'll capture you both.
Man: And what makes you think you can capture me?
Katsura: You're outnumbered 5 to 1, there is absolutely no hope for you.
Man: Wrong.
At that moment, the sound of a door being forced open in the direction of Kiyosato's room and soft, almost silent but rapid footsteps are heard approaching. The ANBU team was shocked when an individual, having short brown hair, dressed in the standard Konoha attire with the exception of a headband sped towards them while forming a number of hand seals.
Cho: That's...
Katsura: Kiyosato!
Kiyosato: Fire Release: Fire Bullet!
Kiyosato immediately spewed a sizable amount of fire at a motionless Itachi who was occupied with probing Yuki's mind. The Uchiha reacted in time to leap away from the incoming blaze and retreated to Cho and Katsura's location. He then watched as Kiyosato approached Yuki and formed half the tiger seal, immediately dispelling the genjutsu Itachi had cast.
Itachi: I see. So Kiyosato has come.
Kiyosato: So this is the ANBU team Konoha sent to retrieve me.
Cho: Captain, what do we do?
Itachi: We've expended a good portion of our chakra in this battle so we probably can't keep fighting for much longer. Not to mention that the other Kumogakure guards must have heard the sound of Kiyosato's door flying open in addition to the fire technique he used.
Cho: Its true. They're headed over here right now.
Katsura: We don't have much time.
Itachi: The next attack will decide this battle.
