As the current fight progresses , it is becoming more & more clear that a ninja is not to be analyzed by strength alone.....
a truly powerful ninja has very high levels of strength , endurance , jutsus , & MOST IMPORTANTLY BRAINS!!!!! , if we look at the entire naruto series this becomes self evident...
1.Sarutobi "defeating" orochimaru : though oro was technically younger , knew more jutsus , had more stamina BUT sarutobi was still a better ninja.... he had more brains than oro...
2. taking a more recent example..... itachi was able to best nagato simply bcoz he used his brains & defeated & sealed nagato...
3.even inspite of kabuto having counter to everything that itachi could do kabuto still lacked a crucial skill on the ninja that was brains , the ability to think in the time of need...
4.now lets take an example of minato ...
he bested killer BEE & A in their prime..... was ready to kill killer bee ..... out paced A... all effortlessly..... using as minimum jutsus as possible... that is the mark of a true ninja....
he bested tobi & made him run away & after that even sealed kyuubi inside of his son to maintain the balance of powers in the nations.... all that plan , he came up in a short time....
5. Jiraya.... a fine example.... he fought both itachi & kisame ... whether they engaged in a full scale battle is a different story but J-man sumoned the gaint toad of mount myuboku to tilt things in his favour , no need of raw fire power.....& both kisame & itachi has to run.... so it doesn't mean that kisame & itachi couldn't match or exceed the strength of J-man... but it was about how inspite of the odds & J-man (without sage mode) did in order to save sasuke & naruto.....
When fighting Pein .... J-man didn't match the firepower but used pein's abilities to his advantage & managed to kill 3 of them... whereas it took naruto's sage mode , kyuubi , sage mode again to kill pein..... i agree there were 6 peins in front of naruto but even after knowing the abilities of all of them naruto coun't come up with a plan to do it in a efficient manner.....
Sure FIRE POWER IS the mark of a powerful ninja but if that fire power is not coupled with a good brain then that is useless.... e.g both naruto & killer bee were man handled by nagato & had itachi not arrived at the scene then kabuto would have captured them there & then.....
Same goes for this fight...... madara has all the fire power in the world.... But still thinks Hashimara can stop him , & the fire power we have is no less , we have gates activated might guy , two of the strongest bijuus & a ninja who knows more than 1000 jutsus..... but why isn't all that working .... bcoz all this isn't guided by a brain on the level of sarutobi , J-man , Itachi , Minato....... which is why these are not truly powerful ninjas as they lack a crucial ninja skill.........
Hence the truly powerful ninjas , that can give any kind of enemy nightmares are:
Sarutobi,Jiraya,Itachi,Minato..... ( ADD others if you feel there are other balanced ninjas )
