Haha, do you honestly know how much time has passed since the battle started? Not much. Even so, the army is covering ground from another country to reach the battlefield at which Naruto is present. Besides, fights in Naruto do not last hours really, if they do it is quite rare.

Large portion of the army had been killed by either white zetsu or the reanimation jitsu, your asking where they are, they are in the middle of war zone . Just imagine there was no army and it was just naruto. He would have never even been able to make it to obito. But I think they have sealed most of them so I'm guessing they will be able to help naruto within the next ten episodes

Maybe they're really running on a treadmill with some green screen making it look like they're actually going somewhere when really they're not running anywhere, if you ask me i believe that it was a trap set by someone using genjutsu and a treadmill so that back up don't reach naruto and co in time.LOL
