Naruto not the best manga?! DA FUQ?!!!

ok, so during my recent expodition to japan, i encountered a little hickup in my plans that rendered me speechless... just to clear things up, my plan was to buy more naruto merchandise than i caould fit in my suitcase...
The hickup was this; Naruto is not the most popular manga in japan, by far... the most popular manga, and i'm talking about this animae/ manga stuff being EVERYWHERE, is onepiece. a show about fricken pirates.

IMO naruto should reign supreme ruler of all manga and animae, but to the majority of people in japan, they like their manga with a little less ninja, and a little more pirate.

I am very upset and i know how much everyone on the internet cares so i just wanted to tell the whole of naruto base this encounter... i hope all of you are just as upset as me.

please leave a comment and comfort me, i'm suicidal over this topic.

it is not surprising one piece even has chain stores devoted soly to one piece. my personal understanding is ninjas are nothing new to japan as to one piece incorperates many cultures and elements that make up the show which is not usually found in Japanese customs and comes off as refreshing in a sense.Not to mention everyone does have there own taste.plus marketing schemes are deployed they do not just send over just any anime they bring over the anime most likely to appeal to american which was one of the reasons naruto's hair is blonde kishi said it himself he made that way so americans would take a liken to it more.americans have all kinds of hair color since this country is founded on immigrants as to japanese usually all have dark hair

it's not only japan. worldwide one piece has more sales and fans. only in a few countries (US being one of them) naruto has more.
and appearantly some people think that the US is the world itself. that's why there is so much confusion going around.

It's obvious thay you've never seen OP. It's very good and well deserves the title of best manga/anime right now. Give it a try. There's a reason One Piece has the same.initials as Over.Powered, not because they bust planets, but because it's just that awesome.

Air Gear: Great for what it was, but Naruto is on another level.

The rest of the mangas you mentioned I haven't read, so I can't give an opinion of those.
Sorry, but Naruto Shippuden is one of the best mangas + animes in my opinion.
Of course, the question is obviously opinionated. The mangas I mentioned here are the ones I've read completely, and they simply do not compare to Naruto under any circumstance.
When judging the overall quality and substance of the manga + anime, I have to regard Naruto in being one of the best. Probably because of the way I received it, but it would make sense if you receive it differently. It simply appeals to me much more than any of those other mangas.

My top 3:
1. Fairy Tail
2. Naruto Shippuden
3. Bleach

I don't get why people say OP's artwork is bad. It has good.quality like Naruto and.Oda uses his imagination to design people and animals. It goes way further than Kishi's imagination. That's one of the reasons OP is.good, the imagination and creativity.

I like both, and it also took me long before I started reading OP, and I always had this same belief. But then I started talking to a few friends who was reading OP, they said it was much better, I read it and can only agree with them. I seriously laughed my ass off so many times compared to Naruto. Kishi has sort of reduced all the comics and funny scenes in part 2 drastically, and the quality of the comics has dropped as well.

I still like Naruto a lot, but OP simply keeps a high level, and it is funny all along. I know no people that reads both and disagrees with me. If you compare the number of copies made in Japan. OP has made 40,000,000 and Naruto hasn't even made 7,000,000... The difference is huge, and there is not really any reason to compare the mangas with such huge difference. And we in Europe or USA got nothing to say, since most of us don't even pay a dime for it..

Oda uses/used more imagination but that means nothing. Kishimoto used less imagination and that's a good thing! Manga with 2 or more worlds, with super-blown-powers, with a lot of imaginations, are really lame for me. I like the idea of Naruto Manga. Kishimoto tried to make a manga that has imagination, but a lot of connection with reality. Etc.
Anyway, I think Naruto is better than One Piece. Who needs to know which ose is more popular!
