No no... I meant that the ninja Nagato killed when he was young... had a pool of blood under his body... and coming from his nose and mouth...

If Nagato blacked out and "left his mind"... I will assume that it was something similar to Ino's technique... which it is... as the recent mangas have revealed.

But Nagato does some serious damage internally to that guy...

Remember that Jiraiya said that "My chakra is going crazy" when Pein stabbed him with the black antenna??

I think that when Nagato killed that guy... he literally made that ninjas chakra "vibrate" and go out of control... until it burst out of each individual cell... and out of that ninjas body.

I think he is just a handicapt and got badly injured in some badass fight.so now he cant fight personally so he uses that bodies.and he is blidding cause he used a lot of chakra.
we will never know how nagato killed that chuunin when he was still a child but nice theory!

Koo has the strongest point. When you spend 12~ hours a day channeling 90% of your chakra into other bodies, for years and years, it is bound to have some kind of negative effect on your body.

nice thought but we just saw nagato being awake while god realm was rambling on and on and on.
so he doesnt really passes out when he uses another body.
the reason why nagato passed out when he was young was becuz he used it for the first time and didnt really have control over it.
as we all know "control" took on a whole new meaning with the 6 paths of pein.
so i think it just weakens him, hence the blood comming out of his mouth.

I would like to share my theory with you guys.

We all know that Nagato uses dead bodies as "puppets" by controlling them, Dead bodies have no will power nor chakra.

Ok, after you understand that point lets move on,

Nagato used the same technique that he is use now to control the dead bodies, on that one Ninja in the photo. The main problem is that he was still a living human, thus he have chakra and willpower. He used that technique, but the ninja, tried to fight back.

The reason why he was bleeding is because he was young, didnt have that much chakra and the battle to control a living bodie took its tall, that is the reason why he bled.

Now that he is older, he gained more chakra, and was able to manipulate more dead human bodies simultaneously.

Also the reason he looks so skinny and stuffed up, is because he needs to feed all the dead bodies, constantly with chakra. In order for him to manipulate them. So his chakra is divided 7 ways constantly!! I think that takes some toll on the human body.

Also he used that devastating technique, and it causes him to use up so much chakra that its doing damage back to his body, similar to Naruto that used the fox's chakra to an extent that it damages his body. I also have to agree with the eating thing, I would suggest a better diet and nutritional plan, hi also needs more protein.

Unfortunately protein and vitamins arent going to cure the problems in his head. ; )

guys the only reason why nagato is on the wheel chair right now is because his body grew frail because their country became a battleground for war...we don't actually know every detail but from the previous chapters he told jiraiya that he's there to protect his friends...

maybe protecting even means giving his food + water for them, that's why he grew a frail body, but with a strong mind...its not because he was using techniques or so...he doesn't black out anymore when transmitting chakras, etc.

thus he needed a wheel chair

I think this is a good theory but i think yes he blacked out because this was the first time he did use his rinnegan(like naruto and the fox cloak when he hurt sakura he couldn't remember doing it...his mind goes blank from rage)this is what i think happened back then as for now i think that the machine drains his chakra and acts as an amplifier for them as you look at the picture of him you can see 6 wires/rods split off for the 6 paths,thus i think the machine helps him split and controls the powers better as i think he would not be able to if he did not have the machine as i believe the host body needs to be immobile when controlling the 6 paths of pein. Like you mentioned his mind goes elsewhere leaving the host body vulnerable....this is where konan comes in.... just my opinion though (sorry for rambling)

1 - 4ths sacrifice through the sealing technique
2 - 3rds sacrifice through the sealing technique
3 - Orochimaru?s constant need to change bodies in order to keep his immortality
4 - Itachi?s disease from extensive use of the MS
5 - Tsunade?s regenerative technique
6 - Naruto?s kyuubi use

Nagato is probably in the same situation.
He has the rinnegan which is so powerful, but in exchange for all this power his body must suffer drastically. It is in order to balance all that power.
