My first thought was that they want her body to get intel, but since she is already dead i have no idea..

Yeah I think she is a spy. Kakashi said the same when haku retrieved his body, that they would destroy it along with its secrets. Probably some hidden jutsu that would activate at some point in time, when the hidden mist needed it, and so konoha couldn't get the secret of that jutsu they needed to destroy it. Probably she was even placed in Konoha by Madara if I were to guess..

no she was not a spy, they bloody mist attacked kakashi and rin ....rin had a experimental body as said by zetsu in the previous chapter, you should also read the new releases at *********** they have way better translations.... like i was saying rin was a experimental body and the bloody mist hunters wanted her....kakashi could not let this happen so he killed rin to protect her and the leaf village.

Does anybody else remember that filler episode where Kakashi had a girlfriend who turned out to be a spy, then let her go? Kinda weird to think about when you take this into consideration.

If Rin is a spy and Kakashi killed her because of that then there are loads of plot holes. Why would Kakashi mourn her death, she wouldn't be a real comrade.

Also why would Kakashi say to Obito 'do you blame me' how can Kakashi be to blame for Rin being a spy? Kakashi would be doing his duty as a ninja in killing a spy.
