Of course there are plenty of variable to consider, but in an open plain field, Deidara could solo Itachi. In an enclosed environment, Itachi would have the advantage. That is what I mean by variables, thus Deidara is >or= Itachi. Deidara lost to Itachi in an enclosed environment, but keep in mind Deidara is a long-range fighter. No one takes into account the endless variables when comparing characters, which leads to irrational reasoning/favoritism. There is no way Itachi could beat Deidara in an open field, I could counter every possible scenario you think would work.

Itachi is a legend in this business. Listen, I've countlessly said over and over how Itachi has earned his credit over the years... Deidara is good, don't get me wrong, but he has no chance against a veteran like Itachi. He's an icon in our industry, and he's a future naruto hall of famer.

Deidara has been shown to be susceptible to genjutsu for extended periods before he tries to see if he's in one with his left eye. That's a huge opening for itachi.

I agree, Itachi would win, but Sasuke mainly won because of Manda and his lightning nature. As far as i know, Itachi doesn't have lightning nature. You can't always apply ABC logic to Naruto.

Itachi can hit Deidara with Ama or Tsuku and it is over. Deidara trained himself to be able to see "through" genjutsu, which means he notices when he is in it and then breaks it accordingly. He can't do this against the complexity of Tsuku. He also isn't fast enough to avoid Ama. As soon as Deidara flies away and tries to use his big jutsu, which he would against an opponent like Itachi, Itachi can just Ama him.
People saying Sasuke beat Deidara so Itachi can are not thinking, Itachi does not use lightning jutsu. feat wise Deidara could beat Itachi unless he amaterusus Deidara. This is an unbaised opinion using logic. You can't say Itachi wins cause he will think of somethin you must provide how he does with the feats he has shown. Also just becaus someone has a technique that can beat the person doesn't mean they could pull it off before they realize it's to late. They both have a way to win it all about who pulls it off first.

There's the problem, you guys don't use rational thinking. Deidara's mobility rules out Totsuka Blade (as far as we know, it doesn't have unlimited range), Itachi's long range three tomoe looking attack (Itachi admitted he, naruto, and bee didn't need to "aim" their attacks when they destroyed Nagato's Chibaku Tensei), Genjutsu (he'd be too far away to make/have to make eye contact), I'll give you Amaterasu, but Deidara can also prepare multiple mobile bombs while Itachi is preparing Amaterasu; moreover, Deidara can avoid Amaterasu through clay clone, he can also fuse with his large clay creatures. Susano'o counters most of Deidara's bombs, but I'm not giving it c4, or c0 (I shouldn't have to explain them) Susano'o MIGHT be able to withstand c3 (which is still stretching it). I'm not denying Itachi's skill, he's extremely powerful, but using logic, Deidara CAN solo Itachi. I'd even be willing to Rp anyone's Itachi to prove it. p.s. Itachi hasn't been shown using Izanagi so don't say that, and Izanami wouldn't work on Deidara (He acknowledges what he's capable of, and Itachi's Genjutsu prowess (he wen't so far as to train his eye)). I could add more, but I think you get the point.
you not thinking clearly either. Itachi's sword is not long range dude so you can rule that out and genjutsu should not be working here. read ly1e's post. Itachi won't use Ama right off the bat so it then comes down to Deidara planting bombs underground when susanoo is put up and Itachi using Ama.

Concerning Izanagi, I said if it was his last fight and he knew it, he might as well go all out. Especially if his fight wasn't with Sasuke, and he didn't plan in giving Sasuke his eyes, I don't see how it's too far-fetched to say he wouldn't use Izanagi.
Also, all you guys are saying is how Itachi can defeat Deidara, but provide no valid points on how Itachi can stop Deidara's tech's. c3, c4, and c0 should do the trick. c4 would solo Itachi, no way around it. I can provide valid points, and refute the ones you're making, yet you refuse to do the same. Itachi doesn't have the means to stop Deidara's bombs w/o Susano'o, yet you all just think Itachi could keep Susano'o active the entire fight, be able to even get amaterasu off (constantly bombarded by bombs=no focus), etc... You're biased OPINIONS are hilarious. p.s. Slaton02 understands what I'm saying, he's using logic. You all just can't accept the fact Itachi isn't invincible, and translate what I'm saying to "Deidara is stronger than Itachi", when all I'm saying is that Deidara can solo Itachi, w/o Itachi being able to stop it, and vice-versa.
