i wouldn't say fodderized... Obito was about 18 or 19 and even got suspected of being madara for a second there... Sure obito lost that match, but he was able to kidnap kushina, take out the anbu black ops guarding the event perimeter, extract the nine tails, temporarily had nine-tails under control, almost absorbed the legendary fourth, and almost caught him with chains.... I found that to be impressive for a shinobi going against the legendary fourth.... No fodder type shinobi could pull a stunt like that off...

Before people hammer me about obito being about 18/19... Look closer guys... Obito was about 12/13 during the third great ninja war... Itachi was said to be 4 years old as tobi mentioned how the third great war traumatized him... In the nine-tails attack on the village, itachi looked to be about 8/9 years old as he held baby sasuke in arms... Go back to the episode of the nine tails attack.... 12 yr old obito + 4/5 years? About 18/19 years old he was as he faced minato... I could be wrong... Educate me if i am...

lmao 12 + 4=16 12+ 5=17

I've just been thinking and it still baffles me that Obito, Minato's weakest student was the one who eventually lead him to his demise. But aside from the other factors at play in his death, how do you consider the actual fight and how it went down?

Obito had prep time, a plan, the element of surprise, and the element of no knowledge for the enemy, along with other advantages, do you think he was fodderized by Minato who was able to best him in a short amount of time? How do you think it would have went down if Obito would have stayed and fought?

I don't think Obito was fodderized, but I've heard this since he was called Tobi, how do you think he faired against his former sensei?

well he got owned but, he was facing one prolly the second most powerfull hgokage also. 4th coulda of prolly given pain amd even madrara (NON EDO) a good run for there money, just do to the fact that he is a one hit killer, once he marks you its done, and thats part of the reason obito ran after being rasenganed. also obito knew about the ftg but i dont think he knew about rasengan. i belive minito created it after becomeing hokage. so all in all, obito didnt land a hit, but pretty much left his wife dead, almost killed his freash out of the womb son, annnnnnd ****ed half his village up, soooooo obito wasnt* fodderized because he deal his deal of fodderizing minito's livelyhood.

Nah it was a good battle but Minato could do a little of this & that & flea he could never go head to head without thinking things out but if u have the choice who wouldn't take that
Minato: *mind* *i'll plant a seal flea to kunai at house then flash back in a few mins. and rasengan*

yeah minato fodderized a 14 year old boy. and it was the only character he actually beat in the entire manga

isn't he sooo great

Age does not matter. Naruto and Sasuke are both 16 and besides Madara and maybe Tobi, nobody else can even give them a hard time.

Ok, so would you say he embarrassed Tobi/Obito or made him look bad? I didn't think that fodderizing meant a one shotter, I usually just thought it means making the other guy look like an amateur, which is arguable considering Obito's age.

Hm i don't think fodderizing someone must include one-shotting someone, actually i am quite certain your description of making the other person look like an amateur is very accurate.

That being said i don't think Minato fodderized Tobi BUT he made Tobi look pretty bad still. I mean Minato was at a tremendous disadvantage in that fight AND still managed to beat Tobi, very few people would stand a chance against Tobi's abilities without knowledge on them, hell even with knowledge on Tobi he would be a very difficult foe but without knowledge it's nearly impossible to beat him before he gets you...Minato did it.

I don't understand how people can say 'Minato died, so Tobi won because he's still alive'.
Minato wrestled the Kyuubi from Obito's control, and basically tore his arm off. Obito would have been destroyed if he didn't retreat. Considering that he was a former student of Minato himself, it must have been humiliating to get owned by the same techniques he'd seen since he was in Team Minato. That alone proves that Minato was still in a different league from Obito.

For those who claim Tobi was responsible for Minato's death, you're wrong.
Minato and Kushina both sacrificed themselves for their son and to protect the village. Strictly speaking, the Kyuubi killed them, not Obito (even if he was responsible for releasing the bijuu).

Overall, Tobi's plan had failed, forcing him to retreat with a severe arm injury. He did not obtain the Kyuubi, the village was not completely obliterated (not even close to the damage done by Pain), and he'll most likely be defeated by the child he should have killed 16 years ago.

Obito knew nothing of ftg, no one in Minato's team did until minato explained it to kakashi and rin but he didn't tell obito cuz he was dead(or with madara in hypothetical terms). They all assumed it was body flicker (at least Rin said it was) but it was a teleportation technique.

Tobi brought the kyubii he is the catalyst, with out obito there would be no rampaging 9tails in the first place.

Obito was young and inexperienced, of course he would be fodderized by minato in minutes, but a 30 year old obito will not.

Remember when Kakashi was saved by Minato after Obito got crushed and Minato explained to him that he can transport to the Kunai. Although Obito was the 4th's student he had no idea about the FTG technique. I am sure if he did he would have fought a smarter fight.

Obito never hit minato but minato defeated him..... .

Marking obito with the flying thunder god seal

Releasing the kyuubi from obito's control

Sealing the kyuubi in naruto which leads to minato's and kushina's death

maybe madara was the one who fought with minato. we can see tobi right hand broke during that match(zetsu's body), but obito actually lost his left hand when the big rock hit him. Maybe madara used zetsu body to infiltrate konoha.

Yes, a kage level oponent had to sacrifice himself to beat a 14 year old Uchiha crippled boy.

Obito's "plan":
-Capture the Kyubi(Win)
-Smash the Leaf(Lose)

4th "response":
-Release the Kyubi from Tobi's control(Win)
-Saved the Leaf(Win)
-Seal the Kybui inside Naruto(Win)
-Allowed himself and Kushina see and talk to Naruto(Win)
-Died an avoidable death(Obviously a loss, but is it???)

I think it all depends on how important you take the words Minato said to Kushina before they were sealed. His absolute faith in his newborn child, which is obviously going to be a victory. Minato made Naruto what he is, even now, so Minato made the series ;)

Yah 14 year old Obito thought he was hot shit with his MS, Minato showed him though that sometimes just spamming the same technique over and over again won't win a battle, and beat him. He DID NOT fodderize him, Obito almost got Minato on top of the Kage monument

Lucky for Obito, no one else was able able to counter his MS s/t jutsu until now

The only reason minato died was because he was protecting his village while fighting, tobi was only protecting himself. Also, he died to seal half of the kyuubis chakra with him in the shinigamis belly, I'm guessing because it'd be too much for an infant to take, (as seen from gaara and how his biju affected him at first, not to mention kyubi is ,inch stronger than that)
If anybody is responsible for the fourths death is kyuubi haha.

I like how before people knew it was Obito, they were all like "Minato didn't even beat him that bad" but now that they know it was Obito, they are all like "yea, he fodderized a 14 year old kid" lmao people will grab a hold of anything to try and make Minato look like he was absolutely useless, when in reality no one in hell, even at his age could have done any better against this 15 year old Obito lmao Minato haters drink too much hatorade.
