This is my newest fanfic and i'm leaving the other one behind (for now at least)...and critisism is much welcome and appreciated

Prologue:
His fingers were frozen. He could barely move. His strength was fading. Riku slowly pushed himself up against a wall. Everything was freezing if it wasn?t already frozen. Nothing was out here for him. His only friend was himself, his small cloak, and the small amount of ice abilities and jutsu that he knew. The tundra-like climate was simply too much for him. Even as a natural born ice user he still couldn?t find a way to get used to it. He looked out of the small cave he was huddled against the wall in and he could only see snow. He could barely even feel himself breathing... he almost thought he had to check if he was still alive.
He had to keep moving though. If he didn?t then they would definitely find him, and he could never let that happen. The newly reborn Akatsuki had been tracking him for years. After that day when Konoha led a full-fledged attack on the Akatsuki Madara Uchiha escaped and recruited more, and now they were after anyone with any amount of unique talent, bijuu or not. They wanted to harness any power that contained something that they didn?t have. Riku?s ice abilities happened to be just that kind of talent. Then he heard footsteps. He grabbed Soul Eater (his sword) and braced himself
Shinru slid along his ice path making it form in front of him as he moved. His white robe ruffled at every movement that he made with his hands in order to keep the path going. He was doing his usual rounds in the region of this tundra-like land. He scanned it and everything seemed fine. Just like it always was. Far in the distance he could see a small light... it actually seemed more like a fire. He changed course and went to check it out.
He kept going and saw a cave. The fire was coming from the there. He let released the ice and dropped onto the ground although still standing. At the other side of the entrance to the cave he saw a man. He wore a black robe with red clouds on it. He also saw a straw hat with straight cuts of paper attached to it. His eyes widened as he knew what this man was. He was Akatsuki...
Shinru: (pulls out spear and stands in battle stance) Akatsuki... so I suppose you?re here to find me?
Akatsuki Man: (shakes head) So full of yourself... Yet so empty and weak at the same time... No we?re not here for you... Madara?s found that there is another ice user who contains power greater than yours. We?ve been tracking him for quite a while now (points at cave) and we?ve finally found him. And this time he won?t... no... he can?t escape.
Riku could hear people talking outside of the cave. He lightened his grip on his sword and then held it firmly as he recognized the voice as the Akatsuki member who had been chasing him for the past year. He was tired of running... there was another person out there and while it may be an enemy he could also be a potential ally. He grasped his sword and ran out head first charging an ice chidori as he ran.
Akatsuki Man: (turns around to see Riku running at him)(smirks) right on cue
Riku kept running until he was stopped by a grab on his wrist. But it wasn?t the Akatsuki, it was the other man.
Shinru: (holding Riku?s wrist) Let me handle this kid.
Shinru ran up to the man and took to jabs with his spear then rolled around him and swiped the weapon at his leg.
Akatsuki Man: (raises eyebrow) (appears behind Shinru and kicks him) Is that the extent of an ice users power? Madara must be getting quite desperate to want you...
Shinru: (gets up and pulls scroll off of his back) It?s time that this ended. (forms hand signs and summons a giant dragon)
Dragon: ( in a booming voice) (pushes neck at the akatsuki person and eyes him) This is what you?ve summoned me for. You must be losing your touch. (shoots a blast of ice at the akatsuki)
Shinru: (looks at the man) (thinking and talking to himself) he?s already burning through the ice... this guys no joke... We?d better get out of here. (looks at Riku and is now talking aloud) (puts out hand) Come with me. You will now be my apprentice. (talking to himself again) If what the man said about his power... who knows what they could do after capturing him...
Dragon: Only Shinru has ever been able to break through my ice... and this guy is melting it already. If you don?t come with us then you know what would happen...
Riku: (shaking) ...
Shinru: It?s ok... besides if you stay out here then he?ll just find you again... (looks at the Akatsuki man) The ice is already thawing... THINK QUICKLY!
Riku: (Grabs his hand) (nods)
Shinru: Draco... we?re off (tosses Riku onto the dragon?s back).
Draco (the dragon): So be it (Shinru and Riku get on and the dragon flies off)
And thus Riku had gotten a sensei, a friend, somewhere to go, and a life worth living in only one simple grab of one simple hand.
What is in store for Riku after finding a new sensei? And will this keep Akatsuki off of him?
