This is correct.

You need the Sharingan & the Senju's dna to awaken the Rinnengan; Nagato isn't an Uchiha. Either Madara gave him the Rinnengan or gave him the Sharingan that Nagato unlocked from there.

If you need the Sharingan+Senju DNA, why didn't Tobi or Danzo develop the rinnegan?

I'm pretty sure that the reason Obito says he was the one who gave Nagato the Rinnegan is because Madara gave it to Nagato before he died, then transplanted a reg sharingan into his body. After that, Obito assumed the identity of Madara so since he was acting like him he said that it was him that gave the Rinnegan to Nagato even though Nagato is actually older.

That's what happened from what I understand in the manga.

it was madara who gave nagato the rinnegan ..its not nagatos evolution ..wen madara was revived he firstly asked about nagato brat that means he was kid back then ..at the same time later on he saved obito ....madara did not save obito may b it was zetsu who did !!
thats y zetsu obeys obito coz madara was the one who created it and told obito to follow up on his plans

Good question; my best guess is that because they never obtained EMS. Remember, the Rinnengan is the final stage.

Does anyone else think that old madara looks a lot like nagato when nagato's hair was all gray? I think that Nagato was the bastard son of Madara, but since madara had already obtained his rinnegan, nagato was born with a rinnegan as well.

In that case, wouldn't the eldest son of the SO6P have been born with the rinnengan?

See I always thought both descendants of senju and uchiha were on equal grounds of getting the rinnegan.

If the SO6P split his powers equally to both his kids then why is it people are saying the uchiha are the only ones were are able to unlock the power if they don't have the piece of the puzzle?

this. nagato/pain is my favorite character, it would suck to think his rinnegan is just madara's. anyway, it does fit time wise. nagato "awakened" his rinnegan near the beginning of the 3rd war. madara met obito toward the very end of the war. he could have given nagato the rinnegan so he could use the gedo art of rinne rebirth on him once the biju were collected. he could have gotten new sharingan after, which is what we see in on the last page of this chapter

couldn't have happened. Jiraiya trained the Ame orphans before he trained Minato (who trained Obito) and Nagato already had his rinnegan.

Perhaps Madara is Nagatos father but it is impossible for Madara to have transplanted his Rinnegan eyes from what we know unless were going down the random sharringan from a random uchiha route



I read that it was a mistake however it could be that Nagato is Madaras son and he had the sharringan naturally

For example, OBITO Lost his right eye on that boulder and Madara gave him the eye ( We can see Obito has one Right eye in the last chapter of newest manga ) even though he told he was totaly crushed and the eye is one of the weakest points. Madara has not one pair of eyes that's for sure.

Here is what I think about Nagato and his Rinnegan.

First of all, it seems unlikely that Madara was able to give Nagato his own Rinnegan as transplants. From what we saw in this week's chapter, Madara was extremely old when he saved Obito from his death. Nagato is much older than Obito, which would not make sense if he 'awakened' them when he was a child.

My thoughts on this particular subject is that Nagato was shown to be a master at the Rinnegan. If we compare him to Kakashi for example, the mastery of Kakashi's transplanted Sharingan versus the mastery of Nagato's Rinnegan are on different levels. Kakashi is not able to access the many available techniques that Sharingan provides, yet Nagato has the ability to access every Rinne technique. Also when someone like Obito transplanted a Rinnegan into his eye, he was not able to have the complete mastery of the Doujutsu either. These two examples are not on par with the strength of ocular prowess that Nagato has shown with the Rinnegan.

Maybe instead of directly giving him the eyes, Madara could have given him some of his DNA instead. The combination of Uchiha and Uzumaki(Senju) DNA would allow him to 'awaken' the Rinnegan through his natural ability, thus eliminating the fact that Madara would have to give him his own eyes.

Either way, Rinnegan directly given to Nagato or not, Madara has a collection of Sharingan available to replace his eyes if needed.
