I noticed some people say Obito can't be Tobi because he looked like an adult when he attacked the village while Kakashi was still small at the time. Some say Obito should have been around Itachi's age.

However, when you actually watch episode 248 and skip to around 9 minutes, Kakashi and Guy look very close to adult size and have their adult voices already. The next scene shows Itachi who look much younger than Kakashi and Guy.

kakashi wasn't young that time....he was clearly in anbu uniform meaning time passed by since he was promoted from jonin...

You tobi = obito believers should just wake up from the delusion or dream you're in. @eternalmangekyourinnegan and some others has cleared up all rubbish about tobi = obito theories and @pilyop just used sarcasm conclude,that was funny. rep to all tobi not obito believers. Yes! we know its obito body obviously. Chapter 599 ended with tobi just staring at them and guy asking "are you....obito?", it didnt end with tobi saying something like "yeah you caught me it's me obito, happy now?". Kishi just wanna confuse us and some has already fallen for that,we should give kishi a name, "the mindf**ker" or more politely "the mindtwister". But we can still just wait patiently for wednesday and see what kishi has for us. Peace!

So you are saying Kishi wasted an entire chapter establishing similarities between Naruto and Obito just to turn around and say that it isn't Obito. That would be a waste of a chapter.

You really are in denial.

Think Obito could be related to Madara. Thats a huge connection and reason for him to care about the Tsuki no me. And maybe thats why people called him the black sheep of Uchiha.

Its funny how similair Obito is to Tobi when you think of it, Obito cared about comrades more then the system, and thats what Tobi has done too.

I think those over-sized tv's where just monitors(old-fashioned) because of the Chuunin exam. Obito came late because he helped an old lady, for which he earned a candy and a sermon from Kakashi. Hiruzen is telling Minato that he is to be the leader of this team.

Kakashi was the first to pass the exam. The trees, the leaves and the electric post/powerline(it looked ordinary to me, not a huge scroll) where just there to indicate passage of time while Obito tirelessly train to catch-up with Kakashi. Then finally, Obito passed the exam. A confidence boost that made him decide to give Rin flowers, then Rin told him Kakashi's promotion to Jounin and that they should bring him a present. (A heart breaker)

Minato's gift was the FTG Kunai.
Rin's gift was some special medical supplies.
Obito's gift was his sharingan.

Kishi's style is always to do a reveal but then provide additional clues while everyone is distracted with the reveal. Two panels dipicting Minato's special Kunai are not pertinent to Obito's story except to remind you that Kakashi probably still retains this momento. Gee, I wonder if there is another seal out there someplace? Perhaps that would be a useful tool. As for Kishimoto showing us a telephone pole to indicate the passage of time, I don't think that is as effective as the changing seasons that he had already shown.

Elaborate Izanami, time travel jutsu, Nagato being the bastard son of Madara and Mito Uzumaki, Zetsu turning out to be the revived Izuna--- all these are just fan-fiction, you can choose which one to believe.

As has been posted numerous times, this is just a manga released weekly so I would not expect well-developed characters or consistency. Errors are inevitable of course.

I find it humorous that so many folks actually believe that Kishimoto would make such obvious errors when revealing details about a character that he has been asked about over the course of several years. I might be inclined to believe this myself, if this were some random chapter of filler, but this is a climax event, Tobi's Identity. Notice how sharp the Obito flashback artwork is? This was not drawn in a few days time to present to the publisher. You don't make errors with something like this. We are talking about a culture with a penchant for perfection.

Kishi once wrote white on black that Tobi was Madara. We know he is not know. Kishi wrote that Tobi was Obito because that is the idea orbiting around Kakashi's and Guy's heads... nothing more. Chronologicaly and power wise. Obito can not be the same person who attacked the village when Naruto was born, nor the same person who controlled the bloody mist, and yet Kisame recognized him. Tobi is as much Obito as he was Madara.
