So I've seen a bit of chit chat involving Sakura over time and I think I've got enough information to type an analysis of her on the Base. This is going to be more of a Sakura redemption thread but I'll still post some of her cons.

Part 1 Sakura
I've decided to place Pre-Shippuden Sakura in a whole new section, because to be honest she's a completely different person from her Part 2 counter-part. Now, the "beginning" of Sakura can best be explained by this panel:
You must be registered for see images
Basically, Sakura's supposed to be a simple yet intelligent girl that's selfishly pursuing her desire for Sasuke. Why would the creator give such a character a vital role? Kishimoto probably wanted to show her change over time from a fragile little girl into a true heroine over the time-span of Shippuden. "Kakashi: Girls her age are more into boys than ninjutsu.." Thus, the flame magnet was born into Sakura's character. I feel like this needed to be said because when it comes to character development, Sakura actually got quite a bit over time. Stereotypical Sakura dissing has adverted such thinking.. but if you look at the roots, it's pretty much there.

To stay on topic with Part 1 Sakura's character, I can actually understand quite well why most people would dislike her - Kishimoto made SasuSaku extremely one sided. While this is fine in the beginning given what I just said about creating a selfish fangirl, Kishi started to go into extremes when Sakura seemed perfectly ready to abandon Konoha for Sasuke's goal out of love despite getting almost nowhere with him; even after Sasuke confessed that Naruto was the one to save her from Gaara's wrath she ended up leaving Naruto the burden of bringing him back. Too much time had passed for people to accept her one-track mind set (this even goes into Shippuden which I'll explain). Factor in her obvious lackluster combat abilities, and she's a rather unfavorable character for this type of manga.

In defense of Sakura, she did admit her weakness several times, and by the end of Part 1 was determined enough to train 3 extremely hard (life threatening by her view point) years in order to increase her strength. As far as natural talent goes, Sakura was the best at chakra control in Team 7 by far. She zoomed through the written part of the CE while Sasuke, a known genius prodigy, was baffled by the questions. She definitely looks weak in battle, but people tend to forget that such opponents were considered "monsters" for their age.

Part 2 Sakura

As I said, they're like completely different people. Her massive strength and intelligence showing against Kakashi actually made her seem like she could rival Naruto's abilities at that time. She doesn't seem nearly as immature as she did before as well... and has definitely grown more accustomed to Naruto's ways. You know, when Sakura schooled the entire sand village and Chiyo in medical arts, I had sort of a fanboyish fear that she'll make Naruto look insignificant at the time (all those fillers commenting on Naruto's idiocy killed me a bit xD). What's more? She even got to team alongside Chiyo (a hyped up, high level ninja) to defeat Sasori who by hype and manga literacy was supposed to be greater than Deidara (who just kidnapped a Kage from their own village). To the average reader, she was extremely impressive!

Time for the Anti-Sakura paragraph. While Sakura's first showing in Shippuden was amazing and had great potential... what happened to it? I seriously feel like she got cut off from whatever Kishimoto was feeding her in the beginning of Shippuden. She slowly became more and more irrelevant, and seemed to dim into her Part 1 phase. After the Pain Invasion, we finally got to see Sakura take a major step in the storyline again! Sai forced her to realize the burden she put on Naruto, and for a while it seemed like she was going to do something about it. Unfortunately, we all know what happened. Sakura couldn't bring herself to kill her childhood crush. Many people were just in major disbelief now.. the guy tried to kill her twice yet she is totally incapable of doing a thing to him. I feel she got trolled hard in this scene. Again, it seems like most criticism is based towards her obsessive feelings for Sasuke. Although again, being put in Team 7 automatically gave her high expectations that she has yet to meet.

I can't defend Sakura's decisions on Sasuke for the most part considering I'm a little peeved myself about them. I'm sure I would think a bit differently in her case but.. things did get a bit too prolonged. However, I also feel that she is underrated in general. Combat wise, most people tend to look at her speed (even though I never really got the vibe that she was slow..) and don't pay attention to her 1 shot capability, high intelligence, or medical knowledge at all (throw chakra control in there while you're at it, it's not just strength). Medical ninja aren't even supposed to fight in the first place.. they're just too valuable. I'm glad that we saw Sakura tricking the Zetsu clone in this Arc, that was good on the eyes. Sakura still has plenty of potential (being called the second coming of Tsunade and all). She still has genjutsu, Slug summons, improved medical abilities and equipment, and other jutsu as possible power ups. Big chests aren't everything guys.

Other

I don't understand why everybody complains about Sakura crying. It's just showing emotion after all.. it's part of her character. Most people are complaining that things aren't sad enough in the manga as it is. Give the girl a rest xD

I also realized that most people take Sakura punching Naruto seriously. To be honest I didn't like Part 1 Sakura's treatment of Naruto too much (despite the comedy), but people are making her a villain out of something like this.. what? It's like she's the new bully down the block or something. Is Naruto even truly injured when she hits him >_> most times it's when Naruto is becoming a naked chick in front of her.
_________________________________________________

As you can probably tell, I got kind of bored with all the same threads getting spammed over and over again so I decided to try something out >_> Although at the same time I'd like to know what you think about Sakura yourself and to give constructive criticism to the OP. Since I know there are bound to be 1 liner trolls.. refer to my siggy ^.-

P.S. My friend says that posting half naked pics of Sakura will attract more people.. but you wouldn't want that, right?

Our friend Chatte has more to add on the matter:
1. Sakura Haruno/Tsunade Senju hate

Just because they're females and they don't have flashy jutsus, they are one of the most hated characters in the whole Naruto verse. Why? Maybe because Kishimoto's sexism got to you too! And I am sure that to some of you it did.
And don't tell me it didn't because I won't believe it not in a million years. It's a proven fact, one leads the way, the others (the majority) follows. Look at the whole democracy thing where we are supposed to have free will but, as a mere fact, we're just some tools. We're given the ideea that we have freedom while we forget to THINK - a simple process - so, in that way, we became useful tools, as I previously stated.
If someone asks himself/herself what I am talking about all I'll have to say is that I am talking about mass-population control. Google it, do whatever you want to do about it, in order to find more about the thing.

Anyway, what I mean is that if Kishimoto is a sexist, it's logical that mostly of its readers become sexists, he just transposes his way to be to the readers through the story.

Why do I say he is sexist? Well look at it: compare the battles in which the men from Naruto series have been portrayed and compare the women's ones.
The most eloquent one: Chuunin exams. All the rest fights compared to Ino-Sakura fight. Clearly the men were the dominant power.
Which, if you ask me, not that I'm a girl, I am the one who believes in equality of the human being, be it woman or man, it's not right.
Ino - Sakura fight could have had the same awesomeness as the boys fights.
If that's not sexism, then what is it?
Secondly, the way he made Sakura all whinny little scared girl.
It's not like that, girls generally are known to be more mature and strong willing than boys - no offense! He just didn't gave her any type of bloodline, nothing. Just a great intellect - she was the one that was the best from team 7 in class.

Another thing is that you say that all she does is count on Naruto. It's not like that, the biggest thing that made the majority of you think that, was the Sasuke retrieval arc.

Well, let me say something to you: IF it wouldn't be for Sakura to ask Naruto to bring Sasuke back, the bond between both of them (Sasuke and Naruto) wouldn't have been that strong. Why? Because Sakura was the one who strengthened that bond, she told Naruto that HE was the only one able to bring him back so that made Naruto think more about his connection/bond to Sasuke.

Yes, that whinny little girl did that, she is the balance between Naruto and Sasuke. Sakura always loved Sasuke, who was too busy playing cool, who made Naruto in the progress of gaining more of Sakura's attention compete with him, who made Sasuke knowledge Naruto's power, which made them rivals/best friends.

Most of you don't understand these little hidden things because all you are busy with power displays and flashy jutsus.

Secondly, you don't seem to understand emotions. Sakura cries, yes, she does that a lot, but she doesn't cry because she's weak, she cries because she's too powerful mentally, that somehow she has to let it all out.

Tears are not of those who are weak, but of those who have been strong for too long.

And, yes! Even if you deny this, the facts show it, and maybe not in a regular day by day basis where you wouldn't understand, but in a fight.

Remember when she just kicked Ino out of her head? Well that's mental power! Pure raw mental power.
Besides that, let's bring it down to the human part - how many of you have loved? But truly loved! I am talking to those of you who know what love is. Do you know how it feels when your love is unshared? Do you have any ideea? Just because the majority of you are boys and boys usually don't display emotions, doesn't mean that you can hide the fact that we all feel/have feelings. Because, in the end, that's what Naruto is about. Human things like feelings, bonds etc.
Maybe someday when you'll love and get hurt and be somewhere alone in a corner, crying your asses out, maybe that some day you will remember this annoying character who just used to express her feelings too much - for some.

Another thing, you keep blaming her for telling Naruto that she loved him, that she doesn't love Sasuke anymore and you say that she was just being bitchy.

Does any of you have any idea on how much pressure was on her heart? Does any of you think about the torment in her mind? Having to protect her good friend and killing the one she loves.
She didn't tell Naruto she loved him because she was trying to act as a bitch, she did it because she was trying to PROTECT him. As best as she could! How do you think Naruto would have react if she just told him the truth? She just needed to know Naruto safe, not being exposed to any threats. Even if Naruto in the end found out and got there.

Which led me to the next subject I want to expose. That she was weak when she got there to kill Sasuke and then, again, she had to be saved. Ok, I agree, she had to be saved... but my question to you is this: how many of you can kill the one you love? Do you think it was so easy for Sakura to go there and try in doing it? No, it wasn't!

Maybe this was the wake-up call for her, this was necessary for her to finally see that Sasuke is not the Sasuke she once knew and that next time she will need to be more careful. Although she will keep hoping that someday Sasuke will come back and be the Sasuke she knew.
Admit it, we all hope! That's the main thing we do when things usually get ****ed-up, we still damn hope! Because this is what hope is, a lying bitch that makes us believe everything will get better and so she manages to lie ourselves until we're bye-bye, if you know what I mean.

Sakura once again has to be thanked because she saved both of them, Naruto and Sasuke. Remember the first part, against the Sound team. She wasn't that great, didn't had that many flashy jutsus but she fought until the last moment to protect both of them. She showed then how powerful is, how strong her will is! She didn't cared about the sacrifice she had to make in order to keep both Sasuke and Naruto alive. She cut her hair - a very precious thing for her. Tell me how many of you gave up to a very very very precious thing for your friends. But truly did. Because we have to admit, we tend to be pretty selfish people. Her will for the ones she love is just among the most powerful ones in the whole Narutoverse.

For example, here you have a pretty clear view of her will:

"I'll get you! Even if you blow off my arms and legs, if I take in your poison and it paralyzes me, I'll get you I swear it! No matter how much you resist, no matter what you do.... I'll beat you half to death and make you talk about Orochimaru!! Got it?"

- this is Sakura to Sasori. So yes, she's strong willed when she wants something. Doesn't matter what she has to do, she just does it! And in the end she did it.

Now, most of you will probably say that it was thanks to Chyio, that it wasn't an unfair fight and so on.
Well, let me tell you, it wasn't!
If it wouldn't have been for Sakura, Chyio would have died more quickly. Tell me how Chyio would have been able to dodge the iron sand if it wasn't for Sakura?
It was a fair fight, Sasori had the main puppet, himself and the other 100 puppets while Chyio had Sakura and the 10 puppets. It was even in power display. So stop saying it was an unfair fight. It was! And Sasori himself acknowledged Sakura's power and admitted she is not a brat to be played with.

And don't worry, if Sasori was defeated, it's not such a big deal. He still remains the Sasori of Great Red Sand, a true worthy shinoby of his name. He just died with honor, fighting!
So in terms of will and raw power, Sakura rocks hard! Yes, even without all those flashy jutsus.

"I may not have amazing weapons in me like a puppet, but what I do have is my masters contempt for losing... what I also got from my master was unarmed combat skills"

So, yeah, whenever you say you hate her just because she's weak and she cries a lot, think about the cause first, don't go directly to the effect!

What I have to add on the line that I forgot to put here is this: Sakura tried herself FIRST to stop Sasuke so people who say she put this on Naruto not trying to do nothing, are mistaken as hell!
Props to her for that :ice:

I made an account just to say that I totally agree with this. I've been trying to find someone who shares the same views, but oftentimes, people either really hate her, or like her only because of her looks or because she's the main girl. Sakura really isn't that bad - she is mainly underrated. At parts, she really annoys me, but at the same time, I find myself somewhat fond of her character. Her character development makes her unique and relatable. I feel like Kishimoto could have made her into such a better heroine, but she rarely gets any scenes like the Sasaru/Chiyo one. Plus, that Sakura confession ark and her attempt to kill Sasuke, really brought her popularity down. That whole ark made me so annoyed by Sakura, but at the same time, I guess I understand that she had good intentions.

Aw welcome to the Base <3

I think Sakura gets too much heat for her "Confession" towards Naruto. All she was really trying to do was help Naruto and take the burden off of him. It probably wasn't the smartest move but she's not selfish or anything for trying like others might say.

I have my reasons to hate Sakura with a passion and i'm sure that many of the members can agree with me. The main reasons we hate Sakura is because

1- She has put such a huge burden on Naruto
2- She has never given Naruto a chance (at least he chased her for her love)
3- She appreciates a guy like Sasuke, but fails to acknowledge Naruto
4- She missed a wonderful opportunity with Naruto
5- She try to trick Naruto with her feelings about loving him, so desperate <.<
6- She is so negative to herself that is a big one for me
7- She changes all the time and not for the better
8- She tries to accomplish things by taking the easy way
9- She is annoying to hear sometimes
10- She pushed comrades away for the sake of a dumb mission
11- She is never confident in her abilities
12- She gets scared of everything
13- She pretends to be a damsel in distress

Oh thank you! :D I was one of those ninjas who read posts but didn't have an account.

And that's how I feel too: annoyed that Sakura made an unwise move, but at the same time, appreciative that she was just trying to make Naruto feel better.

Everybody has their opinion on Sakura so I won't bombard you with GIFs until you lie and say that you like her. It certainly has to do with the person reading the manga! Over half of these don't really matter but others have even more pet peeves about Sakura.

Aha that's cool.

To be honest I feel that people tend to forget some of the events that happen in Naruto (her actions with Sai, her appreciation to Naruto during his wind training, etc.). Especially if you're exposed to the Base a lot, which strives off of combat discussion.

1. Explained already.
2. How do you change your feeling for someone? Did Naruto gave Hinata a chance?
3. She acknowledged Naruto long time ago.
4. She didn't ask for that oportunity. If someone who you don't love, says he wants to be with you, do you get together with them?
5. She did that to protect him. Anything else?
6. She acknowledges her personality. She is negative only when it comes to these two because she cares too much about them. But she is determined. Watch the fight against Sasori.
7. You base that on what?
8. Define.
9. You read a manga. You don't hear her. And all the other stuff are entertainment-only as the whole over-used idea with hitting Naruto. In the manga she doesn't even do it that often.
10. She protected them.
11. Again, have you watched her fighting? I find her pretty confident.
12. Define.
13. She doesn't. On the contrary.

A Sakura analysis what is wrong with you. I just might read later if I'm bored.
I have a Sakura analysis too, you want to tell me that something is wrong with me? Based on what principle? What facts? Universal laws or just personal beliefs?

Everybody has their opinion on Sakura so I won't bombard you with GIFs until you lie and say that you like her. It certainly has to do with the person reading the manga! Over half of these don't really matter but others have even more pet peeves about Sakura.

Aha that's cool.

To be honest I feel that people tend to forget some of the events that happen in Naruto (her actions with Sai, her appreciation to Naruto during his wind training, etc.). Especially if you're exposed to the Base a lot, which strives off of combat discussion.
Well to be honest, half of your thread doesn't matter. You like that?

She is negative only when it comes to these two because she cares too much about herself.

I have a Sakura analysis too, you want to tell me that something is wrong with me? Based on what principle? What facts? Universal laws or just personal beliefs?

Welcome to the base! ^_^
All those thirteen responses you gave were incorrect-- it lacks intelligence. Protect? Protect, twice? From what? Snow falling on top of his head? Anyways, Chatte no one likes Sakura only a desperate one like you tries to convince others-- it doesn't work that way, hun.

Thanks! :) And I agree with your arguments. :O

Yeah, that's true. There were many scenes that show that Sakura is a genuinely nice/good person. I like the fact that she truly cares for Naruto and that they share such a close friendship especially since they faced many hardships as Team 7.

Lol, -rep me much because you cannot give logical explanation to what I've questioned?
Who lacks intellicence here? Me for being able to put you into a debatable challenge based on given facts or you for not being able to respond my challenge? :)

Please, you make me laugh...

You make me laugh for looking foolish. I could of accepted the challenge, but after seeing so many errors after you quote me. I decided to not even go there. The only reason you even quote me in the first place is because i'm not a fangirl. I don't need to like Sakura Haruno did you understand me? She was once upon a time in the ending of Part I and beginning of Part II my favorite female character, but now i think she is a disgrace. Case close.
