I liked this chapter. Seeing Obito's life then finding out that tobi's Obit was pretty cool. And although Kishi pretty much revealed to us that Obito is Tobi, we shouldn't jump to conclusions, and just wait for the next few chapters. Kishi has made many twists in the manga.

True. And every twist made me loose interest in this manga... For me it all started with Naruto mastering Rasengan (and still continues...) in what 3 days (I still like that though because it was Naruto and its his manga ).... Rasengan is supposed to be one of the strongest offensive weapon and all it does is break a mask of some stupid kid who has two jutsus to save his life. God why did I start reading this manga again?!!

I liked how it showed Obito as a failure that was always behind everyone else (mainly Kakashi), similar to how Naruto felt about sasuke. But now he's a legit powerhouse.

looking forward to the connection between Madara, and Nagato's rinnegan. Tobi, and Zetsu. Sasuke and Orochimaru... it starts to have the plots of a soap, but I will most definitely want to find out how the story continues.

Alright, I have been on this sight for about 100 chapters as a guest and finally decided it was time...I have a theory that no one has posted yet.
The "Old man" that Obito ran into on the way to the mission was 1 of 2 people(who I can't figure out which yet.) Either Madara or...Izuna.
Both of whom could have given the Rinnegon to Pain. It would be easy enough for Izuna to take someone else's eyes-Possibly Madaras old ones. Maybe they just Swapped eys.(sorry about off topic but this is important for my theory.) Obviously Madara achieved Rinnegon after his fight with 1st hokage, so it is possible he learned how to achieve it and got Izuna Rinnegon. 1 of the two gives them to Pain, the that one comes across Obito. Using the powers of Zetsu, who it shows in the manga that Tobi obviously has them as well, manipulates his body to look like an older versian of Obito(Dead) and takes his last eye, which miracurasly survived the rocks. This could explain the EMS that Tobi has and the Rinnegon he "took back". this all points to my theory that Tobi is Izuna with a Zetsu manipulated body of Tobi.
With Senju DNA, he could live alot longer than others explaining how he is still alive. A previous theory on this forum stated that he wore the mask so he could change his face when needed and i agree with that. the chapter where Tobi takes off his mask to Kisame is good proof because kisame calls him Madara, not Obito(Plus i dont think Obitos face looks much like Madaras), but he cant be madara because Madara is dead. And It could also be stated that being Madaras brother, Izuna also has the ability to control Kyubii. Oh and don't you think that Kabuto would also try to take control of Izuna as well as Madara, so where is he? My theory is Izuna with Zetsu ability

And before I start getting Bashed, this is just a theory and i would love it either being Obito or Izuna. Alot of the people waiting for kakashis struggle with fighting Obito, even if it isn't fighting a look-a-like will be just as difficult. Please remember that with the Naruto Series, just about anything is possible. Oh and I don't believe it said in the manga that Izuna died, or how, but if it did could someone please refer me to chapter and page?

I'm guessing the unexplained power increase will either be as a result of a possible merging with white Zetsu. There is also some crazy Orichimaru hidden plot going on that Sasuke is on the trail of. This hidden plot may also explain Obito's current existence and attitude.

Well, that was rather disappointing. (Though the hint was obvious with Kakashi and Gai being there.)
There better be a really good explanation as to HOW Obito could have attacked Konoha 16 years ago when Kakashi and Gai were still kids then. HOW he fooled Kisame, Itatchi and Minato into believing that he was Madara. HOW Obito knows so much about the Sage of Six Paths, Rinnegan, Madara Uchiha, etc. WHY he would do the things he did? What was his motive? It seemed like Kishi just took the Obito theory with the Zetsu parts being added to him and used that in his manga. AND (similar to what Sawyer7mage said during his reaction video) the next few chapters will just be Talk-no-Jutsu with Naruto 'bringing him into the light'. Could it be possible that it's a Zetsu of some sort since he can change his appearance? (I don't see how he looks like Madara, it seems like Kishi changed his mind over the period of Shippuden.)
I'll rate this a 2 out of 5 just because we get to see them as kids.​

I think we can all agree that Obito had to have been influenced by someone to have this new found view of the ninja world as meaningless and full of disappointment. However, I dont think Kishi will rehash orochimaru and say that someone is controlling Obitos body. People who are saying that Izuna or Madara nurtured Obito and took his body are making assumptions. The only way Madara and izuna could still be alive when Obito was is if they continously body surfed. I dont think Madara and Izuna would be the type of charcters to do this, they are very different to Orochimaru. However, the long haired masked man still needs explaining and I don't know who it could be.

There are a lot of ways this can still go Obito could be just Tobi & there's nothing else to it but there could still be more to it then that. I still think a Zetsu will play a major role in this.

I think that Madara was the one who fought with the 4th & he had Obito's Sharingan & after Madara died Obito got it back that would explain we he can't turn it off. & also this Obito/Tobi has never shown that he can control a Bijuu with his Sharingan he had to use those chains to control them.

& the people complaining saying Obito was buried underneath all those rocks but maybe that was Madara making Rin & Kakashi see that with a Genjutsu & Obito was really only hit with the rocks that crushed his right side.

& all the people saying this don't make sense there's plot holes. How about let Kishi explain Obito/Tobi story you all know what explaining is right? It's something that happens after things are revealed so how about give Kishi a few chapters to explain this before you say it don't make sense.

Ok I agree with there being two tobi's and Madara being the one that fought the 4th... But I I don't agree with him using Obito's eye.

(If it was Madara fighting) He already has the EMS, and the eyes that he has belonged to Izuna which are more powerful then Obitos are.

He had already awoken the Rinnegan so it wouldn't have made sense for him to down grade his eyes

Too bad Kishi cannot think beyond anagrams (Tobi - Obito)

The next 5 chapters are going to be a stream of flashback no jutsu shit unless the ratings go down and Kishi might want to give some other stuff

Now what, Kishi comes up with 2 Tobi theory - One with the long hair fellow and the Short haired one is Obito, and he would conveniently put the first fellow (presumably Madara) in the timelines where Obito cannot be inserted?

I don't really mind Tobi being any character, all I want is a good connection between the dots

Obito has got to be someone old and someone who knows the 4th hokage's well and he attacked konoha , and uchiha itachi never killed him , someone who knows so much information as much as the jyuubi who probably noone knew about, not even madara , only someone wit the rinnengan can see the text. ok check these clues out

No, your question is not insulting to me at all... The fact that my expected justification from Kishimoto is so simple itself shows how highly I think of that guy. In fact I lost my faith on him long long time ago, I guess right after that Chunnin exam.

Actual explanation that might get me interested is if Tobi is made as an idea of absolute power while the purpose behind it varies. Tobi has been such a complex character, at least in my opinion, that just one person wouldn't fit the bill (btw, that goes with Tobi saying, "He wants to be nobody", "He has no identity"... he he he). Actually, neither Izuna nor Kagami nor f*** all Madara alone justify being Tobi because there'll be no explanation as to why would they wanna achieving world peace even if it means its imaginary. Obito being Tobi makes sense from that stand point. But then if Obito is Tobi, there are so many other things which wouldn't make sense.

I think Kishimoto has played it safe by showing Obito is Tobi because all readers know about Obito is from one manga chapter. Now Kishimoto can go on with his **** and bull story with mind numbing fillers and stupid theories to explain how Obito's life went on (after supposed death!).

With this reveal I almost think it's confirmed that Obito's entire body wasn't buried underneath those rocks. I think his right side was because look at his face the right side is disfigured. But the left side is normal & if the rocks feel on his entire body u would think both sides of his face would be messed up.

I'm banking that either Madara used a Genjutsu to fool Kakashi & Rin into thinking Obito was buried. Or when the rocks where falling a Zetsu pulled him out right before he was completely crushed.
