The lava doesn't just surround you, it completely covers you and your body can't take that sort of a heat level unless it's protected with some sort of a barrier that doesn't get affected by heat. You haven't shown anything that protects you from the lava.

correct me if im wrong but...its up to the user where here makes the earth corridor and he used it around him self as a shield not underneath himself. Its up to him if he wants to converge the enemy or himself.

you say also you need a shield to protect from the heat but no no no since when has that ever been a rule?
He used it around him self its not like the lava is touching him.
