Not all the Rock bands scream!
But some rock songs have that screaming. And that's very good! Because they try to say to the others what problems they have, that they are having a hard life with drugs.
Pop? Pop songs are only happy. A lot of Popstars use drugs and they have a lot of problems...but they do like they don't care and they are happy...

Considering Freddie Mercury died in 1991 after battling AIDS, I wouldn't consider Queen a 90's band. Also Led Zeppelin only had a brief reunion in 1995. They aren't a 90's band either.
