The prata path can absorb wood since it is chakra based. But i still think that hashirama is able to make so much wood from all degrees so that preta cant keep up.

According to the third databook, the jutsu that is absorbed is sent to a bottomless swamp. Sage mode chakra is different, since it is hard to control more then likely the preta path will turn to stone before he absorbs all the chakra.

Gaara is just manipulating the sand, not creating it. Obvious difference is obvious.

He does create sand also....by grinding earths strongest minerals...
And his sand sagurated with so much chakra for years IMO

Does he create said sand out of his very own chakra? If so, it'd get absorbed too.

Preta wont be able to absorb the sand, since it is not chakra. Gaara is just manipulating the sand, so that means if Preta absorbs it, the sand wont dissappear but just fall to the ground.
