Pein can't be effected by Genjutsu.

well, how do we know all the paths werent effected? the jutsu ended when jiraya killed them three. After he began walking away is when Asura path attacked. So who's to say that they were in a genjutsu, and that Asura finally appeared after the genjutu was over? hmm

hmm good point......
but Im pretty sure Kishi would have mentioned that through pein.

Pein would probably say something like "he had me beat, but didn't know my secrets yet"

or Jiraiya would think of it as he was dying or something.

It just seems strange for that not to be mentioned.
kishi usually covers every little thing that happens in a fight.
