maybe in the madara vs 1st battle, Madara used all his EMS power to make a genjutsu on the 1st - to think that he is a plan, and he believed it and transformed into a plan, and that's why Madara lost his EMS. And now Madara needs the power of the bijuus to stop the effect of the genjutsu, to return his EMS, and the fist to beckome man again, in order to finish the fight!

Tobirama Senju, Nidaime, couldn't use Mokuton, and he was a pure blood Senju.

The First Hokage is a unique ninja. Well except Yamato but he obtained it through genetic experiments.

I'm guessing that the power of the senju is like high element jutsu affinity or something.

And to answer this thread, no. Zetsu isn't a Senju.
